Hotel Review: Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur | Luxury IHG Property In TRX, Malaysia’s First Kimpton Hotel
The Hotel Located in TRX (Tun Razak Exchange), Kuala Lumpur’s latest “future of the city” zone, Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur is one of those hotels that immediately feels like it knows what it wants to be — a lifestyle hotel with personality, not just a five‑star checklist. I managed to stay here last month over the weekend, while I also checked out Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur.

Let’s address the obvious first. This is not Bukit Bintang. If you are here to stumble between night markets and jalan makan till 3am, look elsewhere. But if you’re after direct MRT access, a calmer, more polished base and easy access to Pavilion KL, KLCC, and Merdeka 118 without the chaos, TRX actually makes a lot of sense.
The hotel sits right within the TRX precinct, with seamless connectivity and far less traffic nonsense compared to staying deeper in Bukit Bintang. Fon one, the lobby feels welcoming and is like a big living room.

The Room Kimpton does rooms well in general, and Naluria continues that tradition. The rooms here are design-forward but functional — clean lines, warm tones, and just enough playful detail to remind you this isn’t a generic business hotel.

Views are a mixed bag depending on orientation, but higher floors reward you with either city skyline, TRX greenery, or — if you are lucky — a clear sightline to Merdeka 118.
I stayed at the King Essential Room which is 30 sq. m. – 33 sq. m.. The room size is decent where the bathroom is quite spacious especially the standing shower zone. Alas, there is no double vanity sink.

My other gripe is the lack of the proper work desk given that the hotel is in the midst of office buildings.

Soundproofing is quite good, which matters more than you think in a city hotel.
The Facilities The rooftop Pool is a definite highlight. While it is not enormous, the skyline views make it a pleasant place to unwind rather than just a photo op.

The Gym is well‑equipped and modern with ample natural lighting.

There is also the signature Kimpton Social Hour, where guests can enjoy complimentary drinks and light bites in the evening at the lobby.

The Restaurants Tuai + Till is the hotel’s main restaurant, where I checked it out for breakfast. The breakfast buffet spread here is not overwhelmingly large, but you still get a good mix of both local and Western options.

It is a spacious dining setting, live kitchen stations where service is prompt.

Sabato’s is described as Malaysia’s first retro Italian‑American restaurant; Four Siblings (image below) is Malaysia’s first spice‑themed bar and the only rooftop bar within the TRX district, while Rise & Grind is a grab‑and‑go café counter.

Rants No spa facilities in the hotel, and there are also no shower facilities on the pool and gym level.
Overall Experience If you fancy the idea of a convenient hotel linked to a big mall, Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur is worth checking out. It doesn’t try to out‑grand the old money hotels in KL, nor does it chase influencer hype too aggressively. Instead, it is a well‑executed stay that balances design, comfort, and personality.
