The Place Located in the Financial Business District of Singapore (Asia Square Tower 1), Extra Virgin Pizza is one of the latest additions to the pizza scene in town. It is unfortunate that there are no indoor seats here so it can be unbearable for people with a low threshold for the humid weather in Singapore. Otherwise, there are plenty of outdoor seats.
The Food The Pizzas are made to order so expect a considerable waiting time upon ordering. Being a mushroom lover, I could not resist ordering the Mushroom Pizza ($22). I am slightly disappointed with my pizza as I feel that the crust is too thick and the mushroom taste is not strong enough for my liking. At $22, this is averagely priced considering the price range of similar establishments.
The Seafood Pizza ($28) I had next was mediocre at its best. The prawns are lacking in freshness while I thought the clams are too small. Moreover, the seafood servings are not generous despite being priced at $28.
For desserts, we decided to try a few different ones:
Chocolate Ice-cream ($5) – Average quality as the Chocolate is not rich enough.
Nutella Panna Cotta ($8) – I thought that this is mediocre as the nutella taste is not strong enough and I felt more like I am having a bland jelly.
Affogato ($9) – Finally a dessert which is right. The strong Espresso blended well with the Vanilla Ice-cream, just that it might take a strong coffee drinker to finish the Espresso once the Ice-cream has melted completely.
Will I return again? Nope, as there are other more value for money Pizza outlets in town, such as Osteria Mozza and Skinny Pizza. An honest feedback to the management team of Extra Virgin: the service here needs some serious polishing and training.
