Food Review: Commune Cafe & Bistro | Coffee spot at Millenia Walk
The Place It is always refreshing to discover new cafes as I am a sucker for cafes. The perfect weekend can be as simple as chilling out at a nice cosy cafe to laze the afternoon away. Commune Cafe & Bistro is new to Millenia Walk and the it has an interesting concept of combining lifestlye and coffee under the same roof.
Located at level 2 of Millenia Walk, Commune Cafe is a spin-off of its furniture arm and most of its seatings are laid in an “alfresco” concept, along the communal walkway of the mall. There are posh cosy seatings in its interior as well but apparently that comes with an extra fee.
It might be a good idea to take a glimpse of the furniture at Commune before having a cup of coffee.
The Food The food offer here is pretty limited, just some sandwiches and cakes. As for beverages, there is a decent selection of coffee. The coffee beans are imported from Australia which is the same as that from 40 Hands in Tiong Bahru.
The Iced Mocha ($6.50) is pretty decent in my opinion, not too diluted but not too thick either. It is not the best around town yet feels satisfying enough.
Unlike most places, the Chocolate Tart ($4) is not served cold but is heated up warmly. This has the melting chocolate effect as I take my bite. The crust of the tart can be better though as I feel that it is not crispy enough.
Rants There should have been more finger food options served here, such as fries or more dessert options like ice-cream and affogato. The current food selection is way too limited.
Will I return again? With its wallet-friendly prices and convenient location, I may well stop by again for a cup of coffee.
