Food Review: Wimbly Lu Chocolate Cafe | Most popular cafe in Jalan Riang
The Place Jalan Riang is not a road most Singaporeans are familiar with but that is precisely the reason Wimbly Lu Chocolate Cafe must be one of the best kept cafes.
From a shophouse converted into a cafe, the interior is dim at the entrance and brightens as I explored the end of the cafe. I like the way cosy corners are created, not to mention the glass ceiling which definitely helps to create a more relaxing ambience. It happened to pour heavily the day I went and it felt so good sipping a cup of mocha while listening and witnessing the violent raindrops simultaneously.
The Food The home made chocolates is the famous bit here as is evident from its name. Alas, I did not manage to sample any of them. The Hot Mocha ($5.50) was a good compliment to the rainy weather.
For some snacks, the dim-sum disguised Fries ($4) is pretty addictive.
And finally, our sweet tooth craving got the better of us and we decided to try the Double Chocolate Cheesecake ($6) as well. It is not overly sweet which is to my palate’s liking.
Rants The off-beat location is probably the main point to rant about but that is also the charm of the cafe.
Will I return again? Another plus point is that there is no service charge and GST at Wimbly Lu and that is enough reason to be back again!
