Food Review: The Clueless Goat | Unpretentious cafe in Novena
The Place I always think that Novena area lacks cafes, so am glad that this void has been filled by a week old cafe The Clueless Goat. While I am as clueless as to how the owners got their inspiration from, it still is quite aptly named for the year of the Goat. Or as the saying goes, “Not all who wander are lost”. Located steps from Udders ice-cream, the chic industrial looking cafe spots a no-frills and clean look. Serving mainly all-day brunch fares, sandwiches and coffee, the prices are fairly reasonable given its centralised location, with most of the food items below $10. I was excited when I spotted Common Man coffee beans at the counter, which is used for the coffee here.
The Food The choices are vast, from the Poached Eggs ($7) to Scrambled Eggs on Toast ($6) to the wide spread of Goat’s Sandwiches, there is something for all at wallet friendly prices.
I had the 5 oz White Coffee ($4.50), which has a nice medium body though the latte art could have been more defined.
For something stronger, the Affogato ($7) has always been my favourite for that extra shot of espresso.
My limited capacity meant that I could only stomach something light, hence the Scrambled Eggs on Toast ($6). I wish the eggs is more buttery, but no complaints other than that.
Rants It is not a huge space here, so may not be ideal for bigger groups. I only spotted one communal table near the entrance which can accommodate 8-10 pax.
Will I return again? I have already set my eyes on the Roast Beef ($9.50) sandwich, which only means that I need to return soon. This is one unpretentious cafe I like.
