Snippets: Best Salad Stops in Raffles Place | Finding our next Salad Bar with OpenSnap!

I must profess that salad ain’t my top choice for lunch, ever. But truth be told, it is probably the only way I can maintain my healthy diet considering the amount of food I enjoy – just check our Restaurant List tab and you will know what I mean.

And so, in the spirit of having a balanced diet, I decided to give all (almost all) the Salad bars in Raffles Place a try. While the list below may not be exhaustive, they have been strongly recommended by my friends, colleagues and foodies on OpenSnap – a quick guide below on this before the Salads! So, here we go!

Here’s how easy to search for your desired on the OpenSnap app.
1. Click on their Search button

3. There you have it! Yes, it’s that simple!

Daily Cut

We read about it on mainstream media, we saw the long queues and now it’s my turn to try it. Definitely one of the priciest salad around, starting from $12 for a regular salad (1 protein + 1 complex carb + 3 supplements) to $18 for a beast size (3 proteins + 1 complex carb + 3 supplements)! Here’s a tip from one of my colleague, if you have a small diet, the trick here is to share a beast size salad with another friend!

Goodfoodheals

Salad Bento. You do not get to choose what goes into each bentos, but you get to choose what you will like to focus on – Body, Skin or Muscles. The items in each bentos have been carefully selected to ensure your objectives are met and a sustained diet on these will definitely help cleanse your body well. These bentos are slightly on the bland side tastewise, though matching dressing are provided.

We say, the bentos from Goodfoodheals really focus on eating well without the usual sweet dressing (which are not really healthy, right?).

SaladStop

Probably the largest chain of salad place in town, with 5 branches in and around the Raffles Place area. They have their popular Signatures and Classic Salads and Wraps, or you can choose to choose whatever you want to be in your salad mix for the day! Being a chain, they have the luxury of perfecting their operations and the efficient kitchen clears long queues every lunch hour. Yet, their quality remains top-notch, fresh ingredients coupled with fast service and their online ordering system, this is probably what most salad bars should aspire to!

Skinny Salads

Another concept under the Spa Esprit Group, Skinny Salads offers a more diverse range of pre-determined salads than your usual salad bars. With selections from oriental-influenced options to the Mediterranean-inspired salads, Skinny Salads comes up top as my preferred choice. And if you wallet permits, grab one of their detoxifying juices!

Smør

Scandinavian-inspired sandwich, the only carbs that get featured on this list, is a rather hearty meal. Smør does open-faced sandwiches, with various choices for toppings, including Smoked Norwegian Salmon, Norwegian Herrings and the Swedish Herb-Roasted Sirloin. Whether hot or cold, these sandwiches are almost heavenly. Do bear in mind, the small portion and therefore the relative high price makes Smør a choice for the small eaters.

The Lawn Cafe

One of the few salad bars which cater for people like me – Savoury Salads! Mix-and-match styled, pick what you like for your daily greens and top it with the grills of your choice. If going green proves too tough for you, probably The Lawn Cafe will help you tide through this better. An occasional salad lunch here helps, whether it is for the health conscious or the guilty souls!

Tossz Salads

Pick your choice of greens, and match it with any of the classic salad mix! Probably the only salad bar in town that actually let you change your choice of vegetable daily even if your choice of mix remains the same – it is less boring this way, no? Both branches can get very busy during the peak lunch hours, head down just before noon or after 1pm, and you will comfortably grab your healthy salad in peace mood!
