Express by Chatterbox
You can now get a taste of he famous Chicken Rice from Chatterbox restaurant at Mandarin Orchard Hotel here at Express by Chatterbox, one of the newest concept to debut at the swanky and new OUE Downtown Gallery. Prices start from S$8 for its Signature Chicken Rice, and there are many more local delight options such as Homemade Char Siew Rice (S$8), Signature Laksa Noodle (S$8) and Wanton Mee (S$8). Omotesando Koffee
We first had on hands on Omotesando Koffee few years back when we visited its hipster residential location in Omotesando, Tokyo, and it is not hard to see why this brand has grown such a huge international fan base over the years. It also has an outpost in Hong Kong, and the good news is that it will be opening this June in the most haps foodies’ location in town right now – at OUE Downtown Gallery. The first Omotesando Koffee will be located at level four of the mall, as part of the The Work Project, a co-working space. Nesuto Patisserie
Located next to Birders, the one month old Nesuto along Tras Street is an ideal space if you are looking for a cosy space to while away the afternoon. The Japanese-French inspaired patisserie serves up artisanal cakes and desserts such as Matcha cake and Duo Creme Brulee, with a strong focus on Oriental tea pairings as well by local tea brand An Tea Social. Sama Curry & Cafe
The almost two weeks old casual Japanese dining concept is located in the same building as Express by Chatterbox. The Hokkaido brand dishes up Japanese soup curry, where you get to customise your main dish, spiciness level from a scale of 0 to 30 as well as your soup base. The food is hearty with an interesting concept, which we are sure will be a hit with the CBD crowd in the vicinity. [Read more here…]

Located at the basement of Raffles Holland V, the one month old SENS Restaurant within TASTE supermarket is one of those restaurants which you probably wouldn’t ever stumble upon. The truth is that it does serve pretty decent Japanese fodo offerings, with more than a hundred items on its menu across almost all types of Japanese cuisine we can think of such as sushi, sashimi, teppanyaki, sukiyaki,  tempura, yakitori and tonkatsu dishes, along with a wide selection of Japanese craft beers, sake and wines. [Read more here…] Address: 18 Holland Ave, #B1-12/13, Raffles Holland V, Singapore 278997

The Affogato Bar
Love the Italian dessert? Meet The Affogato Bar, the few weeks old affogato cafe concept located at Cluny Court along Bukit Timah Road. You can sip Dimattina Coffee from Melbourne here, have some bagels and sandwiches, or indulge in the five different affogato flavours such as Death by Chocolate and the Carota Carota, a carrot cake ice cream and cream cheese base flavour. Wine & Chef
Fancy cheap wines? Wine & Chef might be your answer to satiate your palate. The casual dining concept along Keong Saik Road has been quite low key till now, though we must confess we enjoyed the novel Mod-Sin cuisine along with its fancy and wide range of wines. Hudsons Coffee
The Australian coffee brand has opened at Changi Airport’s Terminal 3 by the Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR). The menu at Changi Airport also includes a range of local flavours including a local favourite, Kaya Toast and Pandan Kaya as well as the Hudson’s signature breakfast club and deli sandwiches. Something worth dropping by if you are at T3 anytime soon?

Pret A Manager
Similar to Hudsons Coffee, the Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR) has also brought in the UK’s Pret A Manager located at Changi Airport’s Terminal 3. Expect the old favourites and best seller items like the iconic Chicken Caesar & Bacon Baguette – Pret’s top-selling baguette in the UK – the Wild Crayfish & Rocket Sandwich, SuperClub Sandwich, and Swedish Meatball Hot Wrap. The brand will also be introducing a number of popular veggie and vegan options, including its hot Veggie Breakfast Brioche, and vegan SuperFood Mezze Salad.

Jade Restaurant has a refreshed look and Eight Treasures under its belt
Jade Restaurant at Fullerton Hotel spots a new look after a massive revamp of its interior. The light pastel hues of the Cantonese restaurant is much more inviting than before, while the Eight Treasures takes centrestage on its menu with some of chef’s signature highlights like the Crispy Roasted Pork Belly and Sautéed Beef Tenderloin with Crispy Garlic in Black Pepper Sauce. Located at Vivocity, the casual Japanese dining restaurant has recently introduces its very own sushi bar, breaking away from the Shabu Shabu offerings it has always provided. You can choose to go ala carte, or try the 8 course and 12 course Omakase which starts from S$88++.
