Hotel Review: Pullman Phuket Arcadia Naithon Beach, Thailand | Charming Secluded Resort minutes from Phuket Airport
The Place Located just 10-15 minutes drive from Phuket International Airport, Accor’s Pullman Phuket Arcadia Naithon Beach is a paradise at the quiet Naithon Beach area. Nestled amidst the nature reserve, the resort is the only major hotel brand on the stretch of a seemingly forgotten beach on the island.
While looking for a resort to spend the long weekends, Pullman Phuket fits the perfect bill as a silent tucked-away hotel, yet situated just next to a charming almost-exclusive beach. And a relaxing vacation time it was, with us spending the four full days within the resort, only heading out for one dinner upon recommendation from the hotel team – the Suay Restaurant Cherngtalay, an award-winning Thai-cuisine restaurant located within a 30mins drive from the hotel.
The Rooms We are comfort creatures, and checked ourselves into the Ocean room for the first two nights, before upgrading for a last night stay into one of the seven Luxury Ocean Pool Villas. At 46sqm, the Ocean room at Pullman Phuket has a very spacious layout. A small square open-air foyer greets the guest before entering the room proper, giving guests a space to leave your footwear. Upon entering, you are first greeted by a walk-in wardrobe on the left, and a toilet with separate shower and lavatory setup. The room stretches on to include a balcony facing out to Naithon Beach and the Andaman Sea beyond.
If you are looking to splurge, the villas are definitely worth your bucks. Spanning 170sqm, all villas comes with a private pool that looks out to the Naithon Beach and the sea, with a bathtub that opens up to the private pool. You are first welcome by an outdoor pavilion and two sun beds, following through to king-sized beds and the walk-in wardrobe that stretches into the bathroom. There is really very little reason to head out from the villa, with coffee machines, complimentary minibar, in-room fitness kits, and frankly, one of the best in-room dining I have ever enjoyed – serving up very satisfying authentic Thai food.
The Facilities Pullman Phuket Arcadia expect none of its guests to ever need to travel out to explore the island. With 6 dining options, and a long list of recreation and relaxation choices, you will be stuck happily in the resort throughout your stay. The main pool is located at the front of the hotel’s lobby, with a row of sunbeds at the man-made beach just below the pool. We definitely spent hours just lazing by the pool, although during peak hours, the pool can frankly get too packed. Alternatively, head up to the second swimming pool of the resort higher up in the slopes amidst the guest rooms.
Alternatively, get a work-out at the resort’s Fit Lounge, located beside the second pool. The 360-degree glass-walled gym is one of the most beautiful gym spaces you can ask for, overlooking the Andaman Sea. And if you are there with your young ones, there’s a Kids’ Club located just below the Fit Lounge, packed with all-day activities and play area.
Of course, for pampering just head to the resort’s in-house spa, the Dhatri Spa was very popular during our stay, and we do strongly recommend you to reserve a spot in advanced. If you are staying at one of the pool villas, you get to enjoy a complimentary 20 minutes head and shoulder Thai massage too! The charges here are quite reasonable, with a 60 minutes Aromatherapy Massage setting you back by just THB2,600++.
The Restaurants All-day dining concept, Elements, has an above-average hotel breakfast spread. The quality of the food, and selections across different cuisine, gave a good start to each morning spent at the Pullman Phuket Arcadia. By lunch, the restaurant serve up a mix of options, although we strongly recommend you to go for their Thai food options.
Just located above Elements, the hotel’s feature dining spot Vero Trattoria & Wine Bar is helmed by an Italian chef. Open only for dinner, the restaurant imports many of its ingredients from Italy, with Vero having a brick oven for its pizza and the kitchen also dishing out homemade pastas. Beautiful space, a perfect setting for the special dinner to commemorate the stay at Pullman Phuket Arcadia. We visited Vero twice in the three nights here, no regrets.
Rants Service was not consistent throughout the hotel, and in fact we had the most disappointing service experience with the front desk when we were upgrading our rooms from the Ocean room to the Pool Villas. To spare you the details, we just felt that the front desk was the least service-centric team in the resort – and luckily, the only team that we had less-than-positive experience with.
Overall Experience If you are looking for an escapade, off from the hustle of a city or even the busy tourist spots of Phuket, Pullman Phuket Arcadia Naithon Beach definitely gets our recommendation. Located just 10 minutes from Phuket Airport, at a secluded beach of the island, the resort gets you a vacation break you seek.
