The Place If you are into photography, the iconic Leica store at Raffles Hotel should be familiar to you. The German luxury camera brand reopened its doors in December last year at one of the most iconic hotels in Singapore, spotting a brand new space including Cafe Leitz.
The first part which I noticed when I stepped into the store is the gallery section which showcases some pretty impressive photography works. Moving in to the store is Cafe Leitz, one of the concepts of Leica which originated from its headquarters in Wetzlar, Germany.
The Food The interesting bit of Cafe Leitz is that there is a different offering every month where the brand seeks to partner with various F&B brands, with the likes of Alchemist coffee and Sunny Hills in the past few months. I would say that itself is quite exciting as you can expect something different if you were to return at different times of the year.
My visit coincides with the collaboration with Yantra, a fine Indian restaurant located in Tanglin Mall where I tried a couple of Indian snacks along with a Mango Lassi.
Having said that, there is no fixed food menu per se and this is not the place to show up for fancy brunch fares. The interesting bit is also the fact that the snacks and beverage are complimentary.
What to expect More exciting collaborations are in the pipeline in the coming months, with the likes of Chye Seng Huat Hardware and an exciting new product launch named Forbidden by the Sunny Hills team which showcases D24 Cigare cookie.
Overall Experience A nice lifestyle store for the Leica brand in Raffles Hotel, where you can learn more about the camera in a gallery like space. It is not so much a full cafe experience, more so an experiential marketing by Leica to connect on a more casual level with like-minded brand enthusiasts, and definitely new converts.
