Food Review: Ji Ji Wanton Noodle Specialist At Hong Lim Food Complex | Delicious Wanton Mee In Chinatown

The Place Located in Hong Lim Food Centre, I dropped by Ji Ji Wanton Noodle Specialist for the first time during lunch hour and I wondered what took me so long to try this still. Expect a long queue during weekday lunch, though it moves fairly quickly. The Wanton Mee stall is one of the most popular stalls in Hong Lim, which seriously has no lack of other food stalls like Tai Wah Pork Noodle and Outram Park Fried Kway Teow Mee.

The Food The most popular options are the Char Siew Wanton Noodles and Fresh Prawn Dumpling Noodles which start from S$4.50. I went for the Char Siew Wanton Noodles which come with a generous portion of thinly sliced char siew, a few pieces of fried wanton, and noodles tossed in its special sauce.

I really like the noodles. The texture is springy, and it is very flavourful from the sauce and I did not even add chilli sauce to accentuate the flavour. The char siew is reasonably tender, while the fried wanton is crispy and has a good portion of pork filling.

I love fried wanton, so I ordered an additional side portion of the Deep Fried Wantons (S$4/8 pieces). It is drizzled in chilli sauce which makes it even better.

Rants I dislike the ventilation at Hong Lim Food Centre, which is not the best air circulation for executives in office wear.

Will I Return Again? This is definitely a stall to try if you love your wanton noodles. Every element in the bowl is consistently good and for the price, it is quite value for money.
