Food Review: Bodhi Deli At Fortune Centre | Cheap Vegetarian Eatery Tucked Away In Bugis
The Place Fortune Centre in Bugis is one of the most nondescript looking building, but who knows that there are actually quite a couple of vegetarian restaurants and eateries. Bodhi Deli is one hidden gem which I checked out recently, a popular vegetarian eatery located at level 3 which offers very affordable vegetarian dishes. It is a no-frills and casual setting where tables are set up along the corridor of the building, but thankfully it is air-conditioned.
The Food The variety of dishes here are really haphazard – Laksa, Chicken Cutlet Rice, Mee Rebus, Lor Mee, MeePok, and more. All dishes are vegetarian, so mocked meat is used. I went for none of the above, but I had the Pumpkin Porridge (S$3.50), which is one of the most popular dishes here.
For the price, this is very value for money. It doesn’t have a very strong pumpkin flavour, but good enough to be noticeable on the palate. The accompanying ingredients are generous, where the porridge is topped with crispy beancurd skin and mushrooms. It is quite a comforting bowl of porridge to have.
Rants No dining ambience to speak of, and the building is a blast to the past as well.
Will I Return Again? Bodhi Deli has a strong following of loyal customers as it was packed during my visit, given the obscure location. If you are seeking some cheap and good vegetarian food in Bugis, this no-frills deli is worth trying.
