Famous Pao Fan
Pao Fan is the latest food craze these days and Famous Pao Fan (一泡而红) in Sultan Plaza is a new entrant to the Pao Fan scene. Located in a food court, Famous Pao Fan is by local celebrity actor Chew Chor Meng who also runs the popular 888 Mookata. There are a couple of Pao Fan options on the menu where prices start from an affordable S$4.50 for the Lala Paofan. The most luxe option is undoubtedly the Lobster Pao Fan (S$16) which was sold out during my visit. For sides, expect the likes of Spam Fries (S$3) and Fried Tofu ($S$3). [Read more here…]

Club 5
After the successful revamp of Ginger at Parkroyal on Beach Road, Club 5 reopened few weeks ago and is looking gorgeous. Designed by award-winning Singapore-based designer Emma Maxwell, the space of Club 5 is inviting and contemporary, and it is hard to imagine that this space has a 34 years old history. The bar menu revolves around different districts in Singapore in the vicinity of Parkroyal on Beach Road. It is a curated cocktail menu through Beach Road, Arab Street and ending up at Bugis Street inspired by the distinct heritage in these districts. [Read more here…]

Culture Spoon
This is not a usual cafe operating model. Located at River Valley, the new Culture Spoon is a multi-concept space where a couple of F&B brands come together to offer a very diverse cafe menu. We had some of the bakes from Cultured Backyard and coffee by Quarter Life Coffee, amongst others.
Address: 409 River Valley Road, Singapore 248307

Slickshots
A rare cafe in Boon Keng, Slickshots occupies a space under a HDB block just 5 minutes walk form the MRT station. The casual and simple cafe specialises in ice cream and coffee. You can’t go wrong with the Hazelnut and Pistachio ice cream with waffles.
Address: 34 Whampoa West, 01-35, Singapore 330034

Anther By Glasshouse
You can get their coffee at Starter Lab as well, and the newest space of Anther by Glasshouse is located with Angie’s Oyster Bar & Grill at Tan Boon Liat Building. There are two menus served here, Angie’s Oyster Bar menu and a separate menu for the pastries and coffee by Anther By Glasshouse. We love the coffee where we had the Long Black and Flat White, and paired it with a croissant and lemon pound cake. Beautiful indoor and outdoor space if you need a break after some furniture shopping.
