The Hotel Located in the heart of CBD and Chinatown district right opposite Hong Lim Park, I took up an awesome trip.com deal last year for Parkroyal Collection Pickering. For a start, this property has won numerous green awards by virtues of the environmental consciousness of its iconic design.

The interior of Parkroyal Collection Pickering is denominated by wood furnishing, and it is evident right from its check in counter at the lobby. If you hold a GHA membership, Parkroyal Collection is part of GHA and you can exercise your membership benefits at this property.

The Room I checked into the Lifestyle Room which measures between 28-31sqm, and was immediately impressed by how well-kept the room is.

The interior of the room is a mix of light wood and light green touches, which extends to the bathtub!

The light green touches blend well with the over-growing green facade of the property, and I am surprised that I actually find it quite a soothing tone given that green isn’t my typical favourite colour. Despite being one of the more basic room categories, the Lifestyle Room comes with a dedicated executive space should you need to catch up on work. Otherwise, the other highlight for me is the spacious bathroom.

The green bathtub is definitely a tempting addition here, otherwise there is also separate rainforest shower.

There is also a basic care pack kit placed on the table.

The Facilities The main facilities like pool and gym are located on level 5, the dedicated wellness floor. While the outdoor infinity pool is not huge, it scores by the availability of cabanas which make it much more comfortable to chill by the pool.

The downside of the pool design is that you don’t get much dosage of sun as the pool is sheltered, hence not so much of a sun tanning moment there.

Another tip is to make sure to book the pool and gym in advance. With Safe Management Measures in place, the pool and fitness centre are operating with reduced capacity where access is limited to 1.5 hours per room per day.

I didn’t manage it try the service at the St. Gregory during my stay, but the spa is also located on level 5. Otherwise, it is quite nice to take a walk on the wellness level which is also houses a mini garden by the hotel.

If you have lounge access, the Collection Club Lounge is located on level 16 which serves a champagne breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails and canapés.

I really love the space at the Collection Club Lounge! High ceiling, nice dose of natural light, view of Hong Lim Park if you managed to snag a table by the window, and the wooden furnishing is just gorgeous.

Operating Hours of the Collection Club Lounge:

• Champagne breakfast from 7:00am to 10:30am on Mondays to Saturdays and 7:00am to 11:00am on Sundays
• Afternoon tea from 2:00pm to 4:00pm
• Evening cocktails from 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Overall, I had a good service experience at the lounge for the various meals I had. The Afternoon Tea impresses the most for me for the quality, while the breakfast quality is really average.

No champagne is served during even cocktail hour, though you can always have prosecco.

That said, champagne is served during breakfast service!

The Restaurants Lime restaurant on level 1 is the all-day dining concept of the property. This is also the venue where breakfast is served for guests. This is the main dining concept of this property.

Rants The pool and gym can get busy as there are limited sun deck chairs as well. Slots need to be booked in advance, and I have heard of guests who didn’t manage to book any slot during their stay.

Overall Experience This is probably one of the biggest hotel property in the CBD. The design of the room and club lounge impress me the most, while service is mixed on the grounds. The standards of the food is really average in general.
