Food Scoops: Le Matin Patisserie At Raeburn Park | Popular Online Patisserie Opens Physical Space Near Outram
What’s Buzzing? Popular online pastry shop Le Matin Patisserie started as an online stall during circuit breaker last year, before it opened its physical test kitchen space recently at Raeburn Park.
What To Expect? Do not expect comfortable air-conditioned cafe space as the physical shop space has limited tables along the common walkway. It is really more for a quick and casual bite of the pastries, and perhaps some coffee.
Some brief background about the chef behind Le Matin Patisserie Chef Matin, who worked previously at the likes of the now-defunct Restaurant Andre, with his most recent sting as Pastry Sous Chef at Noma in Copenhagen.
You can still order the highly sought after pastry boxes online before collection, or simply walk in to grab whatever pastries are available. I like the Smoked Cruffin (S$8) and Cashew Escargot (S$8), or go with simple options like the Sourdough Croissant (S$4). Freshly made artisanal coffee is also available on site.
It was quite a crowd when I arrived before 10am on a Saturday morning, where some of its items like the signature Kouign Amann (S$7) is already sold out. There are many more interesting items on the menu like Kombu Tart (S$9) and Lemon Verbena Tart (S$12).
