The Place Located at Old Airport Road Food Centre, I only tried Salt Old Airport during the Heightened Alert Phase for takeaway and I love their food. The stall specialises in Fried Chicken Cutlet with fried rice or pasta, and offers a modern take on an otherwise common hawker dish. In a sense, I thought that Salt complements the rest of the hawker stalls in the popular food centre as there is nothing quite like what they offer. 

The Food It is an east meets west concept on Salt’s menu where there is pasta, fried rice, fried chicken cutlet, grilled chicken and more. 

The must order item for me here is the Signature Chicken Cutlet (S$8). At S$8, you get a huge slab of fried chicken served with soy garlic fried rice. There is a smaller version at S$7, which is not very value for money as you only get half the chicken cutlet portion as we understood.

What I like about the Signature Chicken Cutlet is their delicious fried chicken. There is something unique about the batter which makes the chicken very flavourful, and the meat is incredibly juicy and tender. The best part and also the most sinful part is the chicken skin, so crispy! The garlic fried rice is not too bad as well, and it goes best with some chilli. 

If chicken is not what you fancy, there are other options like the Fried Salmon Steak (S$8.50) served with soy garlic fried rice. The batter of the fried salmon is delicious too, where there are some similarities in flavour as compared to the chicken. That said, it is a much smaller salmon portion as compared to the chicken. 

Other dishes on its menu include the likes of Mushroom Aglio Olio (S$5) and Mushroom Carbonara (S$5.50), and their Signature Soy Garlic Fried Wings (S$1 per piece). Managed to try the wings when I did a takeaway previously, and it was finger licking good!

Rants Expect to wait 15-20 minutes on average during peak meal hours. 

Will I Return Again? This is easily one of the best fried chicken cutlets I had in Singapore. If you are a fan of chicken cutlet, Salt is a must try.
