Hotel Review: Pullman Tokyo Tamachi | First Pullman Property In Japan Conveniently Linked To JR Tamachi Station

The Hotel Tokyo is always exciting for me, and I decided on checking out the Pullman Tokyo Tamachi since this is a part of Tokyo I have not stayed before. As the first Pullman Hotel in Japan, Pullman Tokyo Tamachi is located just beside Tamachi Station on the JR Yamanote Line, one of the most popular train lines for most tourists in Tokyo. There is a covered walkway which links the hotel with Tamachi Station.

Meanwhile, Mita Station on the Mita and Asakusa subway lines is a 3-minute walk away. The lobby of the property spots a contemporary interior with natural light streaming in from the glass panes on both sides of the lobby.

There are 143 rooms and executive suites even though there are only nine floors. Located at the lobby level are also Kasa restaurant and Junction bar.

The Room I checked into the Superior Suite which is very spacious and stands at 52sqm. Right beside the suite’s entrance is a spacious walk-in closet where there is ample space to store the luggage.

There is a work desk beside the window, and also a relatively huge seating area with sofa and armchair.

Perhaps the best part of the suite for me is the ultra-comfortable king-size bed from Takumi Otsuka™, tailor-made for Pullman Tokyo Tamachi. The bed is really comfortable and hard that I had a very good rest during my few nights stay. I also have to love the 100% blackout shades which makes the room pitch dark at night, ideal for light sleepers like me.

The bathroom is also designed for comfort, complete with double vanity sinks, a separate toilet bowl room, and a huge standalone tub and separate walk-in rain shower. Toiletries are by C.O. Bigelow bath products.

The suite also boasts a view of the train tracks where you can catch Shinkansen trains zooming past. And even so, it is completely sound proof if you are a light sleeper.

The Facilities Check out the Pullman Executive Lounge on level nine, solely for Superior Executive room and Deluxe Executive room, Superior Suites and Deluxe Suite guests.

A selection of snacks and drinks are provided throughout the day and evening, which also include a draft beer tap.

Wellness wise, there is a compact Fitness Centre on the same level as the Pullman Executive Lounge which is opened 24/7. The gym comes with a few cardio machines, weight training equipment, yoga mat and exercise ball.

The Restaurants Breakfast in the morning is at Kasa, a restaurant serving fine dining with a Japanese twist. The buffet breakfast spread exceeded my expectations as I think that it is a good variety of Japanese dishes, international options and pastries.

My top picks are the grilled fishes like salmon, onsen egg, your choice of eggs prepared ala minute including the likes of eggs benedict, and fresh fruits like Japanese melon.

Drinks concepts in the property include Platform 9 located on the rooftop level with direct views of Tamachi Station, located beside the Pullman Executive Lounge; or Junction bar at the lobby level.

Rants Unfortunately there is no swimming pool or spa in this property.

Overall Experience A conveniently located hotel in Tokyo, Pullman Tokyo Tamachi is reasonably priced and its close proximity to Tamachi station makes it easy to get around to other parts of Tokyo. This is one of the properties to stay, especially if you are already an Accor Plus member.

  1. Sounds very accessible and the walk in closet sounds plush. Never stayed in a hotel which is actually attached to a train station. Glad it is reasonably priced too and the hotel I am currently staying at certainly doesn’t have a fitness suite unfortunately, so that sounds like a great addition. Have a great day, and feel free to check out any of my hotel reviews also 🙂
