Yuta
Orchard Plaza is not a typical mall we do visit along Orchard Road and the one-month-old Yuta Japanese restaurant is one hidden gem. Located on level two of the mall, you cannot miss that bright blue box exterior of Yuta which serves only a dinner Omakase priced at a competitive S$115++ per person, one of the lowest price points for Japanese Omakase restaurants these days. Sushi Sei
Tucked away at level one of Holiday Inn Singapore City Centre in Orchard is a newly opened Japanese Omakase restaurant, Sushi Sei, an intimate size Japanese setting with a counter seating which can accommodate ten diners. Ingredients are specially flown in from Toyosu Market in Tokyo and Hokkaido several times a week, where the Omakase Sushi Kaiseki Dinner Courses are priced at S$400, S$500 and S$600, comprising of up to six appetiser dishes followed by nigiri (sushi), dessert and freshly whisked matcha (green tea) to conclude the meal. Masa Saito
You would have probably walked past Masa Saito at OUE Downtown Gallery without noticing it as it is tucked away at a corner near the escalator opposite Takayama restaurant. The two months old concept is a modern Japanese restaurant established by Chef Masa Saito, where Chef Saito uses fresh seasonal ingredients to create a different dish each day, where there is only one 8-course dinner menu 8-course (S$250++). La D’Oro
Located at Mandarin Gallery is one of the newest restaurants to open in Orchard Road that spans Italian-Japanese casual and omakase dining. The restaurant is split into two sections, the casual dining space with an all-day menu for comfort Italian classics, and a hidden door which leads to a L-shaped 12-seater black granite counter seating for the omakase experience. Both concepts are helmed by Chef-Owner Yohhei Sasaki with over 20 years of culinary experience in Italian restaurants across Japan, Italy and Singapore. [Read more here…]

Yue Bai
A gorgeous new Chinese restaurant opened at 33 Duxton Road last month. Meet Yue Bai (月白) restaurant which occupies the shophouse space in Tanjong Pagar where the modern Chinese restaurant Yue Bai is helmed by Singaporean co-owner and chef Lee Hongwei. The cuisine is led by principles of traditional Chinese dietary therapy (食疗 ’Shi Liao’) which uses food to enhance wellbeing. Opened for lunch and dinner, the menu is curated from various Southern Chinese cuisines, with balanced dishes and familiar flavours. Expect appetisers, double-boiled soups, meats and seafood prepared in a variety of styles, along with vegetables and tofu, rice and noodles, and desserts. [Read more here…]

Sol & Ora
Located at the rooftop of The Outpost Hotel on Sentosa, the newly opened Sol & Ora is part of 1-Group and is their latest multi-concept beachfront project known as 1-Altitude Coast and is located next to 1- Altitude Coast Rooftop Bar & Day Club. The menu takes inspiration from Latin-Mediterranean countries such as Italy, France, Spain and Greece, where the restaurant is an all-day concept from breakfast, brunch, afternoon tea to dinner. Yun Nans Stonepot Fish
This is a popular concept in Yunnan that opened its first overseas outpost in Singapore by Yunnan F&B chain, and the concept is famous for its collagen-rich fish soup that is pressure-steamed in a stone pot made of natural granite. This is also the first and only stonepot fish concept in Singapore to use live fish. The fish is the main highlight here where the restaurant uses sustainably sourced fishes from local farms. Buzzing Restaurants
Red House Seafood Esplanade
As one of the most established seafood restaurants in Singapore, Red House Seafood Esplanade is the group’s newest space at The Esplanade. The famous seafood restaurant has been around since 1976 where it started at Upper East Coast Road, where The Esplanade outlet spots a contemporary interior with alfresco dining overlooking Marina Bay, as well as indoor space with a main dining hall and two private dining rooms. Expect to find the signature cuisine of Red House Seafood which is Singapore Nanyang-style seafood with influences from the Malay, Indian, and Peranakan traditions among others. [Read more here…]
