Hotel Review: The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok | Sleek Luxury Property At One Bangkok Overlooking Lumphini Park

The Hotel There are no lack of luxury hotels in Bangkok’s fiercely competitive scene, and the addition of The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok within the massive One Bangkok development on Wireless Road raises the bar significantly. One Bangkok is one of the newest massive malls in the capital of Thailand, and The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok opened back in December 2024.

Upon arrival at the hotel, level one is the foyer and concierge area, and the check-in area is located on level 8.

It is an elegant lobby to say the least, framed by gorgeous arched windows which allow ample natural light to flow in during the day. I love the modern design of the property which is designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.

There are also ample seats to relax in the lobby if you need to wait for someone.

As my room comes with club lounge access, I am able to enjoy my check-in process at the comfort of the club lounge which is located at level 23.

The Room I stayed in the Club Room with Club Room Access & Lumphini Park View, a spacious 50sqm / 538sqft layout.

The interior design of the room leans towards minimalist luxury with neutral shades of taupe, cream, and clean marble finishes. It is a very functional layout to say the least.

Upon entering the room, there is a spacious walk-in closet area on the left, while the bathroom is on the right.

The main bedroom area opens up to the view of Lumphini Park. I love the floor-to-ceiling windows where you get a long and comfortable couch beside the window to enjoy the view in comfort.

The bed is outfitted with ultra-soft Frette linens and is comfortable to sleep with charging points on both sides of the bed.

The bathroom is another highlight – fully marble with a deep, free-standing bathtub, separate rainfall shower, Dyson hairdryer and luxurious Diptyque toiletries.

Other notable in-room amenities include Nespresso machine and premium Voyage tea, as well as high end Bluetooth speaker with great sound quality by Oliver Hemming.

Come evening, there is of course turndown service.

The Facilities If you book a Club Room, the Club Lounge on level 23 is definitely a highlight. A quiet sanctuary within the property, the lounge serves breakfast, light lunch, afternoon tea, Hors d’oeuvres, and complimentary champagne, wine or spirits during sunset.

The design of the lounge is elegant, and the best part is how well-lit it is. The window seat at the corner offers the best view of Lumphini Park and the city’s skyline.

I managed to check out the lounge for all the meals here, and I must say the lunch and dinner spread are very decent and substantial.

Breakfast is a small selection of pastries and an ala carte menu to order from. It is definitely not as extensive as the spread at the all-day restaurant Lily’s but the dining space at the lounge is much more private and peaceful.

There is a live station which serves a rotating selection of made to order pastas during lunch service, and the variety of dishes rotate each day too.

Afternoon tea comes in a classic three-tier presentation with a mix of sandwiches and scones. The chocolate pralines are my favourite.

I spent quite a fair bit of time on the wellness floor at level 7 where the Fitness Centre is located. It is a well-equipped and sleek-looking gym with ample cardio and resistance training machines. The only downside is that the heaviest dumbbell is 22kg which might be too light for strength training.

Do not skip the changing room right beside the gym as the locker room also features an integrated steam room, a dry sauna, warm jacuzzi, salt room and an experiential shower.

On the same level as the main check-in lobby on level 8 is the outdoor infinity-edge Pool.

A decent pool size with city skyline view, the best part of the pool is the shaded cabanas which get fully occupied quite easily. The other slight downside is that there is no changing room at the pool area, where the nearest toilet is on level 7.

The Restaurants If you are into fine-dining, Duet by David Toutain is a modern French concept offering tasting menus. Set within a glasshouse, the concept is a collaboration between Paris-based, two-Michelin-starred Chef David Toutain and Executive Chef Valentin Fouache. Choose between the Signature Experience (THB 5,800++) and the spontaneous Discovery Experience (THB 4,500++).

Each course features seasonal ingredients paired with individual provenance storytelling cards, where the dishes balance classic French techniques with creative local accents.

For the beverage program, it offers a curated wine list alongside an innovative zero-proof beverage pairing program that mirrors the complex flavor notes of the dishes.

For drinks, Caleō is the main hotel bar where the central cocktail counter takes centrestage.

Head here in the evening where you get a beautiful sunset glow into the space and try to snag the window seats. I highly recommend the Rick’s Gimlet Flight — a trio of taster-sized gimlets using distinct raspberry, chamomile, and sour grapefruit cordials.

The food menu here is also quite extensive for a bar should you fancy some bar bites where you can expect the likes of truffle fries, buffalo wings, tamarind grilled fish, and more.

The all-day dining concept of the hotel is Lily’s located on level 7, where the restaurant’s design takes inspiration from traditional Thai lily ponds, offering open-kitchen concepts and floor-to-ceiling window seating.

The best seats are the corner tables with a view of Lumphini Park and the Bangkok skyline.

For club lounge guests, I recommend heading to Lily’s for breakfast instead of the lounge as the variety here is miles ahead from what is displayed at the lounge.

Expect a long buffet line of western classics and elevated Thai morning staples, where you can also order from the ala carte menu in addition to the buffet line.

Some of the Thai Specialties include the likes of Khao Soi Crab Curry, River Prawn Pad Thai and Tom Yum Noodles, while reinvented Western dishes include Egg Siam which is an English muffin topped with pork belly, a poached cage-free egg, and Southern Thai curry hollandaise sauce.

The pastry section is another highlight of the breakfast spread at Lily’s with regional twists such as a Thai tea-stuffed croissant and Lily’s signature flower-shaped Thai tea waffles.

Another notable mention is that the coffee in this property is by Sarnies, a well-known coffee roastery brand.

Rants While the connectivity inside the One Bangkok mega-development is seamless, the immediate area is not ideal for casual street walking or exploring local night markets. You will need a taxi or the MRT to reach traditional dining pockets like Thong Lor or Silom.

Overall Experience I had a great stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok – beautiful and modern design, good service across the property and a very comfortable room. I highly recommend a stay here if you are looking for a luxurious stay in Bangkok.
