The Place If you are in Gardens by the Bay and are looking for a place to chill, Cafe Crema is worth a consideration. As the only cafe around in Gardens by the Bay, Cafe Crema is located near the main entrance near to the customer service counter and is a popular chill-out place for visitors since it opened.
The main bulk of the seatings are communal style to encourage large groups to gather and chill out. In addition, there are also limited cosy corners for couples.
The Food Other than coffee, there are also some light bites such as sandwiches and pastas. I only managed to try the coffee and cake when I was at Cafe Crema.
There are quite a few flavours of cake to choose from such as the Double Chocolate Cake and New York Cheesecake.
For coffee, we tried the Cafe Mocha ($6.50) which is decently good in terms its aroma and taste. I would not say it is the best I have tried though.
The other option we ordered was the Hazelnut Latte ($6.50) which I feel that the hazelnut taste can be further intensified for a better brew.
The Double Chocolate Cake ($9) is very rich and it was warm when served, which is the reason it melts in the mouth on each bite. It is best shared with 2-3 people if you do not want to be overdosed with chocolate.
Rants As the only cafe within Gardens by the Bay, it is the only option for a coffee fix even though the coffee beans are not the most aromatic ones around, as compared to establishments such as Loysel’s Toy or Chye Seng Huat Hardware.
Will I return again? It is almost unlikely for me to specially make a trip to Gardens by the Bay to patronise Cafe Crema again. It is more than likely to be the case where I may drop by again if my coffee addiction gets the better of me while I am touring Gardens by the Bay the next time.
