Food Review: Wild Coco At Jewel Changi Airport | Nasi Lemak With Iconic Rain Vortex View
The Place It started out from a humble coffeeshop stall along McNair Road and it now has a few outlets islandwide. One of the newest dining additions to Jewel Changi Airport is Wild Coco, which has opened its fourth outlet in May this year. Located on level two of the mall beside Tutto, the inner tables of the spacious restaurant boast panoramic views of the iconic Rain Vortex.

Wild Coco is known for their local-style nasi lemak as well as laska, as these are the dishes I first tried at their McNair Road coffeeshop a couple of years ago.

The Food Other than their namesake signature Nasi Lemak, there are also Jewel-exclusive dishes like Ayam Bakar Nasi Lemak, Squid Bloom, Laksa Labo, wok-fried Chao Ta Chee Cheong Fun and a modern twist on Kueh Pie Tee.
For a start, I had their Jewel Exclusive Kueh Pie Tee (S$18.90) where the slow-braised turnip and fresh prawn are housed in colourful spinach and beetroot shells, served over crispy rice puff.

The other starter I tried was their Squid Bloom – Wild Caught (S$21.90). It comes almost like a mini mountain of squid which is barbecued over charcoal flames. The overall taste is slight smokiness and tender texture along with sambal sauce.

A slightly healthier side dish would be their Stir Fry French Beans with Chye Poh (S$14.90).

For mains, the Jewel Exclusive Ayam Bakar Nasi Lemak – Leg (S$20.90) is a grilled chicken as opposed to the fried chicken version. A chicken leg grilled over binchotan chorcoal, served with coconut rice, a sunny-side-up egg, ikan bilis, peanuts, house-made sambal and Japanese cucumber. The portion is hearty, and I enjoyed that aromatic, fragrant white rice along with their sambal.

There is also the standard Ayam Berempoh Leg Set (S$18.90) where the chicken leg is marinated in a blend of traditional spices and fried to a crisp skin.

Other mains options which I didn’t try this time include their Premium Laksa (S$17.90) and Chao Ta Chee Cheong Fun (S$16.90).
For drinks, there are options like Jewel Exclusive CoCo J (S$12.90), Gula Melaka Coconut Shake (S$11.90), and more.

Rants Granted, you are paying a premium for hawker dishes at Wild Coco.
Will I Return Again? It is nice to have local dining options in a mall like Jewel Changi Airport where tourists are aplenty. The Nasi Lemak here wouldn’t go very wrong, and it is a bonus that there are other options like Laksa and Chee Cheong Fun.
