Food Review: Charlie & Co.

The Place Finally tRP had the chance to check out the much fussed Sydney-based Gourmet burger chain Charlie & Co. after it opened its doors to much hype at the basement of Ion Orchard this year. There was already a queue forming during our visit on one of the Friday evenings but thankfully, we managed to snag a table.
P1000773It is a rather casual dining environment as with most gourmet burger joints in Singapore.

The Food We started off with the Parmesan and Truffle Fries ($8), which is a decently huge portion. Not the best truffle fries around but good enough to satisfy the cravings of the less fussy beings.
P1000768For drinks, the Australian imported Green Apple sparkling juice ($5) is highly recommended. The taste is refreshing and unique and we were almost tempted to order another bottle.
P1000767The Double Cheese and Bacon Burger ($16) is disappointing by tRP standards. The wagyu beef patty is too dry and simply failed to impress upon us.
P1000771 For a better value for money burger choice, the Mighty Charlie Burger ($17) is probably a better choice. Almost double the size of the Double cheese and bacon burger, the wagyu beef patty is somehow more succulent and juicy as compared to the former, much to tRP delight.
P1000769Rants The waiting time for our burgers was more than 30 minutes, which can be a pain for the truly ravenous souls. The burgers were decent but failed to wow us unfortunately.

Will I return again? I love gourmet burgers but it has to meet our high expectations if we were to return again. We have to say no to Charlie & Co unfortunately, as it did not impress us as much as Omakase Burger at the Grandstand.
