The Place I would have never expect to find a indie cafe within a medical centre in Novena which is why La Ristrettos is such a charm within Novena Medical Centre. It is almost impossible to chance upon La Ristrettos unless you heard it from someone else or happen to be in the building for a medical appointment.

It is a relatively small cafe with limited seats indoors, as well as a more spacious outdoor garden seating. The space constraints is most evident by the fact that the coffee making machines and apparatus are lined along the wall, creating an open concept as it integrates with the cafe.

The Food Other than coffee which excites me most of the time, the usual all-day brunch selections are available as well. The prices are very reasonable in my opinion, much lower than other cafes in town with no GST.

We had the Grande breakfast set ($14.00),where you can choose your eggs (poached, scrambled or sunny side up). This is highly recommended if you are in for a good appetite as it comes with mushrooms, sausage and two slices of sourdough bread. This is probably one option which rarely goes wrong.

The Florentine Croissant ($10) we tried is equally good, with the generous serving of scrambled eggs within the croissant. The croissant is fluffy yet buttery, and it does not make me feel like it is too oily.

For the coffee, the Cafe Latte ($5.50) has a smooth texture and a strong acidity body. This seems to be my favourite type of coffee recently.

Rants Other than the limited seats, our biggest rant is that La Ristrettos only opens till 1pm on Saturday and is closed on Sundays.

Will I Return Again? It is a nice, unpretentious cafe to chill over coffee on Saturday mornings if you are in the vicinity. I like the fact that it is still one of the best kept secrets in Novena despite having opened for a year already.
