Food Review: Swensen’s Unlimited At Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2 | Swensen’s World-First International Buffet Restaurant

The Place It has been years since I visited Swensen’s and there is good reason for me to do so recently. The popular casual dining brand just opened its world-first International Buffet Concept at Changi Airport Terminal 2 Arrival Hall, and it is called Swensen’s Unlimited. This is Swensen’s revamped space at Terminal 2, and it is a spacious 200-seater restaurant with private rooms.

Are you ready for unlimited scoops of 48 Rotating Ice Cream and Gelato Flavours?

The restaurant is also Halal-certified and offers another Halal buffet option in the east of Singapore.

The Food The buffet price is extremely value for money especially for weekday lunch, priced from S$31 per adult and $15 per child, with children aged four and below dining for free.

My expectations were not high before my visit as I was just expecting a selection of ice cream and some of their dishes on the buffet line such as Fish and Chips. Well, I was quite taken aback by the wide variety of food included in the buffet.

For the savoury part, there are Peranakan and Asian delights such as Ayam Buah Keluak, Kueh Pie Tee, Laksa and Beef Hor Fun.

Salad station for the health conscious.

There are also roast meats for protein including Roast Striploin, Roast Leg of Lamb, and Roast Chicken. I didn’t expect to see a seafood spread but if you love your seafood, there are options like Tiger Prawns, Mussels, Flower Crab, and more.

Next to the roast meat station is hand-stretched, thin crust pizzas prepared upon order with flavours such as Margherita, Chicken Tikka, Trio Cheese and more.

My favourite part of the savoury food are Swensen’s classics like their Fish and Chips, Meatballs and Chicken Chop.

Let’s not kid ourselves, Swensen’s is a synonym for ice cream.

The dessert buffet here is definitely a highlight, where you can enjoy unlimited scoops of 48 Rotating Ice Cream and Gelato Flavours, from classic flavours such as Sticky Chewy Chocolate, Thin Mint, and Cookies & Cream to outlet-exclusive surprises such as Laksa, Kaya, Cheese Cookies, Osmanthus Wolfberry Pear and more.

There is also a chocolate fountain, marshmallows, waffles, croffles and also a trendy item lately, smashed croissant.

Rants Do not come expecting five stars hotel standard food quality for the laksa or roast meats. They are passable for the buffet price point.

Will I Return Again? If you love your Fish and Chips and Topless 5 from Swensen’s, then the weekday buffet is already bang for the buck since these two items from the restaurant’s Ala Carte Menu easily exceed S$31. Head here for variety, and if you have young kids, it is even more value for money.
