Food Review: 7 must try restaurants in Bali
One of the must-visit island in Asia, this little island has in recent years owed her speedy comeback from the best-be-forgotten bomb attacks to the Hollywood hit movie “Eat, Pray, Love”. Of course, not every one can as lucky as Elizabeth Gilbert, to find true love in a faraway land, but tRP thought it might be worth the trip to visit Bali and find another kind of love – our love for food, good food.
We shortlisted 7 restaurants from Ubud to Seminyak to Nusa Dua in Bali which we think offers the most value for money of its kind, based on our own dining experiences while in Bali.
Naughty Nuri Warung
What looked like a local restaurant catering barbecue meats to tourists in the Seminyak area, genuinely has what tRP felt was one of the best pork ribs we have ever tasted. Really.
Naughty Nuri, located along the main northern road in Seminyak, has a very casual local vibe to it. Serving mainly western and local bbq options, do make sure you try their Nuri Infamous Pork Ribs during your visit. One thing for the penny pinchers like tRP, you can find the cheapest TWG tea in town here – with each tea bag only going for just slightly above S$1!

Potato Head
Finding Ku De Ta a little passe? Why not head to Potato Head Beach Club just a few street down! Not exactly a new find in Bali, but this beach club has been garnering much positive reviews for its chic vibe and great service.
Just order a drink, small bites and enjoy the sunny weather, while lazing on the pool side beds or picnicking on the greens. Sounds too good to be true? How about adding in a few eye candies and a nice tan at the end of it all?
If you don’t visit Potato Head in your next visit to Bali, you are missing out. Truly missing out, especially on the amazing sunset.

Soleil @ The Mulia Resort
Another must-try place in Bali, be prepared to spend and enjoy an awesome Sunday Brunch at Soleil. Located within the beach resort “The Mulia”, this seemingly over-the-top hotel, brings you right to the doorstep of the restaurant with a buggy, no less.
The Sunday Brunch consists of an international buffet spread, from live barbecue counter of various meat cuts such as beef and lamb to endless spread of desserts for the sweet tooth, and also a buffet ala carte menu which, well counts foie gras as one of its many options. Fresh juice is free flow as well.
Be further spoilt by the personalize service and awesome unobstructed sea view from your seats.

Sari Organik
Fancy dining beside a padi field? Sari Organik in Ubud was a great experience for us even though it was a good 800m walk from the main road, which we are not ranting about. It was a relaxing and scenic walk amidst nature, a good respite from the hectic Seminyak area we stayed in.
The highlight of the menu at Sari Organik was undoubtedly the organic food. Pair it with coffee and it was pure simple bliss. We could stay here all day.

Corner House
Café hopping is definitely one of our favourite activities while holidaying and we were so glad to make time for Corner House in the heart of Seminyak, aptly located right at the corner of the busy Jalan Laksmana. We heard that the coffee here is great, which was easily one of the best coffee we had while in Bali.
The affordable prices, wide range of brunch fares such as Eggs Benedict and classic Fish and Chips got us really excited. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, which could easily rival some of the best cafes we have here in Singapore given our arguably more developed café scene.
Highly recommend to drop by for a meal while in Bali!
The presentation of the Fish and Chips was perfect as I love how food is served on a chop board. Unlike the usual fried fish, Corner House’s grilled version was served lying on the crispy fries. We decided to be adventurous and tried the passion fruit and coconut ice-cream flavours.

Merah Putih
Touted as one of the best restaurants in Bali by various media, we checked out Merah Putih at Seminyak after hearing the rave reviews. Merah Putih is a classy modern Indonesian restaurant which offers traditional Indonesian fares as well as conceptualising modern and creative dishes in its menu. There is a separate bar and dining area, and we could not miss the insanely high ceiling and garden theme interior with its high tech solar filtered glass panels. We felt that the ambience was almost perfect for a romantic date or a social gathering.

Boneka Sunday Brunch Buffet @ The St. Regis Bali
At IDR. 595.000 net per person, the Boneka Sunday Brunch Buffet may not be a cheap dining option while in Bali but we find it value for money given its wide spread and high quality. We indulged in a long brunch buffet session which officially started from 12pm to 3pm, while complimentary aperitif selection including the signature Bloody Mary is served at King Cole bar from 11am to 12pm. The wide brunch buffet spread is truly International from the Japanese station to the live barbeque station. To add on, there is also a menu where we are entitled to unlimited brunch orders such as eggs benedict and foie gras. Boneka at The St. Regis Bali is totally the place to laze your Sunday away in style and be treated to some quality buffet spread.
