What’s the hype Durian high tea buffet? This is the first time that Marriott Café launched a durian theme high tea buffet, which will be happening from 1 June to 31 July 2016.
The highlights What else, but durians. Don’t expect to find any durian related savoury dishes as it is mainly found in the desserts corner. We spotted Fried Durian Balls with luscious D24 durian flesh, Durian Swiss Roll, Mini Durian Mousse in Cups, Durian Puff, Durian Mochi and Durian Strudel. Watch out for the crepe station too, which prepares Durian Crepe a la minute.
Other offerings The durian desserts are more of a compliment to the usual high-tea buffet spread here at Marriott Café, if anything. Local fares are one of the main highlights – Nasi Lemak, Singapore Laksa, Oyster Omelette, Hokkien Mee and Prawn Mee. There is also seafood and dim sum as part of the buffet line.
Overall experience: Don’t come expecting a huge durian spread as it is only limited to some of the dessert items. The buffet quality is also not the best we had, but we are fussy eaters.
