The Place There are many hotels in Singapore which you go for Sunday brunch buffet, but The Knolls remains one of the most exclusive amongst all for its location. Nestled within Capella Singapore, The Knolls is a Mediterranean restaurant and also the all-day dining concept of the luxury property where hotel guests have their breakfast. I checked out the Sunday brunch offering recently for the first time, even though I have previously had breakfast here during my stay as well as its ala carte lunch menu few years ago.

Go for the indoor tables, though the outdoor tables provide a view of the pool and lush greenery. The weather in Singapore is merciless especially during noon time.

The Food While the buffet spread is not as extensive as Edge or Colony, it makes up for quality. Prices start from S$128++ per adult with free flow of specialty mocktails, soft drinks and fresh juices, or if you fancy champagne, opt for the S$178++ which has free flow of Billecart-Salmon Brut Réserve NV Champagne.

The outdoor zone is where you get your ala minute grilled meats, local delights like satay, and even freshly made pasta.

No buffet is complete without a carving station, where there are options like grilled beef and roast chicken.

Moving to the indoor section, there is a good selection of Japanese sushi and sashimi, freshly shucked oysters, crab and other seafood and cured meats like salami.

I do like the grilled beef, which is quite tender and flavourful. The sashimi is pretty fresh too, if you are a Japanese food lover. Otherwise, go for the al dente and freshly cooked pasta.

For desserts, expect a wide range of cakes and cheese trolley.

Rants For the price, I do expect a wider spread of options. It would have been better if there are some oriental dishes or local delights as part of the spread to complete the experience.

Will I Return Again? Check out The Knolls if you fancy a weekend resort vibes, especially one across the mainland at Sentosa. Should you be looking for a wide variety of food in a buffet line, then you are better off at other hotel buffets in town. Having said, at The Knolls, the quality may well trump the rest.
