Food Review: % Arabica Singapore Chip Bee Gardens | Popular Kyoto’s Coffee Brand Opened Third Outlet In Holland Village

The Place Chip Bee Gardens exudes a charm which I find alluring every time I am back here. After Monocle Cafe closed its doors, the void is finally filled by the hugely anticipated % Arabica Singapore. This is the renowned Japanese coffee Brand’s third outlet in Singapore since it debuted at Arab Street last year, followed by its second outpost at 313 Somerset.

The Chip Bee Gardens outlet as it stays true to its name, boasts a pretty chill looking alfresco space if you don’t mind the heat. The good thing is that it is well shaded, and adds to the nice vibes while having coffee.

I was less impressed with the interior. The design and layout of the tables come across as too canteen-ish for me, which is a pity. That said, it is definitely sweat-free.

The Food As with its other outlets, there is no extensive food menu here apart from croissant. I didn’t notice anyone having the croissant here, especially when you can get freshly baked ones from Tiong Bahru Bakery few steps down.

I ordered the signature Iced Caffe Latte (S$8) and a Hot Latte (S$7/tall). It might be psychological, but I somehow feel that the Iced Latte at Arab Street is better in terms of the intensity of the coffee. The Rantee preferred the Hot Latte though.

Rants Parking can be challenging in the carpark right outside the MRT station. Otherwise, the design of the interior could have been more inspiring.

Will I Return Again? Not to the extent of making a trip to Holland Village for the coffee. Regardless, it is still a decent coffee spot as an alternative to Tiong Bahru Bakery.
