New Restaurants
Yakiniku Like
The famous Japanese Brand’s first outlet in Singapore opened in Paya Lebar Quarter this month, and offers value for money Yakiniku set. The most unique proposition of Yakiniku Like is that it offers individual grills which make it easy for solo diners to enjoy the conventional group dining concept of Yakiniku. Choose from the set menu with various meat options or go ala carte. Prices for the set starts from S$7.80++ which is inclusive of meat, rice, soup and a choice of kimchi or salad. The ordering system here is fast and efficient via a QR code. (Read more here…)

The Nomads
It is easy to walk past The Nomads located right beside Amoy Hotel, and not noticing this new restaurant. Step into the two months old restaurant and I was first greeted by a bar, where the restaurant is hidden behind another door, out of sight from the main entrance. The seating layout of the restaurant is casual as diners sit around the high counter table, which overlooks the open kitchen. (Read more here…)

Lucid
Located in Lavender along Hamilton Road, Lucid is a few days old cafe in the buzzing precinct which has no lack of coffee options like Chye Seng Huat Hardware, 11 Hamilton and Apartment. I was first drawn to the minimalist metallic space of the cafe, decked in grey tone walls and metallic chairs and tables. The vibe here reminded me of cafes in Bangkok and Kyoto, which is refreshing for a change. (Read more here…)

Rumours Beach Club
Rumour has it that you can transport yourself to Bali without flying out of Singapore? By the same group behind Rumours Bar & Grill and Sama Sama by Tok-Tok at Jewel Changi, I was excited to check out the few weeks old Rumours Beach Club in Sentosa as it has been awhile since a new beach club opens on the southern island. Located along Siloso beach, it is about 7 minutes walk from Siloso Point and if you were to drive, the beach carpark is the best option for parking. (Read more here…)

1-V:U
Pronounced as “one-view”, I checked out the few weeks old 1-V:U located at the rooftop of The Outpost Hotel in Sentosa. Branded as the first and only rooftop dining and lifestyle destination, it is an interesting concept by 1-Group (which also manages restaurants like Stellar, The Alkaff Mansion, The Summerhouse, The Garage) given that it brings the conventional day club by the beach vibes to an elevated rooftop spot. Monte Risaia
Located at Duxton Hill, Monte Risaia is a Japanese-Italian Restaurant managed by the same group behind MAI by Dashi Master Marusaya and TEN Sushi. This is perhaps one of your rare experience in Singapore to enjoy Italian food omakase-style. (Review coming soon…)

Chip Bee Gardens exudes a charm which I find alluring every time I am back here. After Monocle Cafe closed its doors, the void is finally filled by the hugely anticipated % Arabica Singapore. This is the renowned Japanese coffee Brand’s third outlet in Singapore since it debuted at Arab Street last year, followed by its second outpost at 313 Somerset. (Read more here…)
