Food Scoops: Tablescape At Grand Park City Hall Introduces New Glamping Picnic Experience & Menu

What’s Buzzing? Modern European restaurant Tablescape at Grand Park City Hall hotel spots a new menu, along with a new Glampcation dining experience at its rooftop.

What To Expect? For one, the plating of the dishes are fine-dining standards at Tablescape, such as the New Botanic Garden (S$24) starter we had. This beautiful combination of Seasonal Vegetables (Raw & Cooked), Fruits, Herbs and Flowers is also served with Lapsang Souchong Tea and a Secret Dressing sauce. The tea and salad pairing is uniquely refreshing.

Next up was the Zucchini (S$24), a combination of Green Zucchini, Ricotta Cheese and Basil. There are three layers to the zucchini soup here – Zucchini cream, Zucchini flower, and Sauteed zucchini cubes which at the base of the soup. Lovely combination of flavours and presentation.

For pasta, I had the Gnocchi (S$28) with Mussels, Broccoli and Wasabi foam. The gnocchi is made in-house mainly from potato and parmesan cheese, so you expect very fresh flavours here.

I also like the Wagyu Beef (S$68) which uses Sanchoku Wagyu Beef Striploin of MB:5- 5, along with a colourful sides of Eggplant, Heirloom Tomato and Oregano to balance the meaty flavour. The Josper grilled beef is succulent, well-marbled and flavourful.

For desserts, expect the likes of the jelly-like Champagne (S$14). This Champagne jelly also has Kirsch Liquor, Gelatin, Mascaporne Cheese, Assorted Berries and Orange Peel.

That said, I am all for the Chocolate (S$14) where you really can’t go very wrong with Chocolate Caramel Cake, Cardamom Sauce and Walnuts.

Other than the dinner ala carte menu, there are also three degustation options: the 4-course Tasting menu, the 6-course Experience menu, and the 8-course Signature menu.

For the Glampcation, it does not happen in Tablescape but the rooftop of the hotel. There are two white tents which can accommodate 5-6 people with air-conditioned within. There is a Picnic Basket (S$88++ per person) specially curated for the Glamping Picnic Experience, which can be used towards the total minimum spend (S$350++) for the tents.

The Picnic Basket has 8 different items like the Tablescape-style Mini Beef Burger, Chilli Crab Mousse, Lobster and Foie Gras. It is also served with choice of either free-flow soft drinks or 2 glasses of red wine or white wine, or 2 glasses of Prosecco.

You need not order the Picnic Basket to dine in the tents, as you can also pick from Tablescape’s menu.
