Food Review: HJ Waliti HJ Mazuki At Haig Road Market & Food Centre | Delicious And Cheap Mee Rebus In Geylang Serai
The Place There are no lack of good Muslim food stalls in Haig Road Market & Food Centre and HJ Waliti HJ Mazuki is one hawker stall I checked out recently. Located at a corner of the popular food centre, the Muslim-owned stall has been operating in Haig Road for more than 40 years and serves popular dishes such as Mee Rebus, Mee Siam and Soto Ayam.

Haig Road Market & Food Centre is located in Geylang Serai and is within walking distance to Paya Lebar MRT. It is a popular food centre which has a good mix of halal Muslim stalls and non-halal stalls such as Zhenguang Hollywood Wantan Noodles.
The Food The most famous dish at HJ Waliti HJ Mazuki is the Mee Rebus (S$3) and this is the dish to order if you only have space for one dish. The first thing I tasted is the gravy, which is thick and rich in flavour.

Served with some greens, lime and egg, it is a delicious plate of Mee Rebus where the noodle texture is perfect along with that delicious gravy.

I also had the Soto Ayam (S$3) which comes with little cubes of lontong, or rice cakes. It also typically comes with shredded chicken meat and fried garlic, where the chicken soup has a little hint of spice.

It is a comforting dish, as the slightly cloudy soup is easy to drink.

Rants Nothing in particular.
Will I Return Again? Prices are kept very affordable at HJ Waliti HJ Mazuki where you can get the Mee Rebus at S$2.50 without egg. Hearty dishes which I had, and it definitely warrants a return visit.
