Liora
Located at the buzzing CQ @ Clarke Quay is a new contemporary restaurant named Liora which focuses on Korean flavours expressed through modern European techniques. The interior of Liora is a balance between an intimate, moody date-night spot and an approachable contemporary space. It is an elegant dining ambience anchored by the open view of the woodfire hearth — stepping far away from the rigid, overly stiff atmosphere typical of upscale fine dining. The cuisine here is a play on traditional Korean fermentation principles and woodfire cooking meet modern European techniques. In terms of the menu, it is organized into snacks, small plates, mains and dessert. [Read more here for our full review]

Tavola Aperta
Plaza Singapura is usually not the first place I think of for a vibey date-night spot, but the newly opened Tavola Aperta  is set to change that. Helmed by Chef Mark Tan who trained at the renowned Felix Trattoria in Los Angeles, this casual modern Italian restaurant spots a chic minimalist interior. The handmade pastas are all priced under S$20 here where it also has an extensive selection of starters and pizzas. [Read more here for our full review]

Miura
One of the newest best-kept secrets in Joo Chiat is Miura, a Japanese inspired wagashi, matcha and cold brew coffeeshop space by the same team behind Paaru. Miura is nestled within retail store In Good Company at 316 Joo Chiat Road, and you would probably walk past the retail store without thinking that Miura is located right at the back of the store of the three-storey shophouse space. It is extremely aesthetically pleasing, very minimalist, with limited seating and a gorgeous outdoor terrace. Wagashi is the main highlight here, prepared freshly every day in limited batches. Expect their signature strawberry daifuku, alongside fruity cold brew coffee and whisked matcha and hojicha.

Noor Singapore
Tucked away along Mohamed Sultan Road, Noor Singapore is the latest buzzing spot to hit the River Valley dining scene. The 65-seater space spots an eclectic dining vibe where the kitchen serves up a unique collision of Mediterranean grub with Japanese accents. Think classic hummus subtly folded with miso, or fresh labneh brightened with yuzu. At the back of the restaurant is a 10-seat hidden izakaya.

MIMMO Bakery Singapore
New CBD bakery in Singapore to bookmark. The new MIMMO Bakery Singapore has officially opened its first permanent outlet at Asia Square Tower 1, serving up a mix of French and Italian pastries with a fun Hong Kong twist. Behind the concept is Chef Domenico “Dom” Giammarella, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained pastry chef, where you can expect a mix of indoor and outdoor seats. Signature bakes include the Egg Tart (S$4) which features a buttery flaky crust with silky custard, and the Pistachio Bolo Bao (S$5) with a rich pistachio filling. Other sweets to expect include the likes of Paris-Brest, a choux pastry filled with praline cream; and Apple Croissant! For something more substantial, there are also handmade pastas cooked to order from S$12, alongside freshly made sandwiches like their delish Italian Club Sandwich for a quick lunch fix. Need a coffee break? We find their all-day S$8 set pretty good value, and it comes with a selected pastry and beverage, making it one of the better-value grab-and-go deals in the CBD.

Iru den’s Reimagined Con Contemporary Taiwanese Cuisine
Contemporary Taiwanese with bits of Japanese twists – that is a void in Singapore’s dining landscape and to learn that this is Chef-Owner Javier Low’s new direction for the restaurant where there is an emphasis on using Taiwanese ingredients where possible. I had their Degustation Menu and started with a trio of moreish snacks – Pear Tart; Carabinero Prawn Toast which showcases prized Carabinero prawns from Yilan, Taiwan; and Oyster Cake which is a contemporary interpretation of Fuzhou oyster pancake (Orh Lua Jian)! If you love Taiwanese street food, you will love the Fried Chicken dusted with fragrant five-spice and topped with Amur caviar. I love my bread and “Mom’s 10-Year-Aged Radish” uses house-aged radish for up to ten years by Chef Javier’s mother-in-law. And guess what? The preserved caipu is infused in the brown butter served alongside a warm spring onion shio pan inspired by “cong you bing”. Other courses to expect include the Carabinero Prawn with Mapo Tofu Custard; Australia Wagyu Short Rib and Lu Rou Fan Claypot where the taro rice is layered with braised and charcoal-grilled pork belly, Taiwanese yam and pickled mustard green. The Beverage Flight is quite reasonably priced – available as a 3-glass option at $68 or a full 6-glass experience at $128.

Peking Chamber (四季民福) Refreshed Menu
If you haven’t heard, the famous Peking Chamber (四季民福) is in Singapore since last August. Located at Resorts World Sentosa WEAVE, the Singapore outpost is modern looking with a main dining hall and a couple of private dining rooms. The namesake Peking Duck is undoubtedly the highlight. It is coined as Roasted Tender Duck on its menu where you can experience 4 unique ways of enjoying the duck. The Peking Duck is air-dried and roasted over fruitwood in a traditional hanging oven. While it has been almost a year since it opened, it also spots a refresher menu where you can now enjoy authentic Beijing & Shandong flavours spotlighting its “4 Signature Classics 四大招牌” and “6 Must-Order Signatures 六大必点”, including the Selected Grilled Lamb with Scallion, Deep-Fried Shrimp with Honey Sauce, Tossed Three Delicacies in Sauce, Mixed Bean Sprout with Sauce, and more.

The Governor’s Table Sunday Brunch Buffet At METT Singapore
Held on the first Sunday of every month, we checked out The Governor’s Table held at Canning Bar & Lounge. With a focus on a reimagined British Sunday roast theme, expect the likes of prime rib of beef and roasted chicken, freshly shucked oysters at the raw seafood bar, artisanal cheeses and cold cuts, and a dessert selection. The roast chicken is our favourite and if you love your beef, the prime ribs do not disappoint too. The setting is within METT Singapore, a colonial-style hotel which was previously Hotel Fort Canning.

Meadesmoore’s Revamped Dining Space And New Exclusive Beef Cuts
The Boon Tat Street restaurant reopened few weeks ago after a revamp of its space which now spans a 50-seater dining room, alongside two private dining rooms that accommodate up to 14 and 8 guests respectively. New space aside, the World’s best Wagyu striploin is now served exclusively at Meadesmoore. Crowned the World’s Best Grain-Fed Sirloin at the World Steak Challenge 2025, the Full-Blood Wagyu Striploin from Takeda 10, is sourced from renowned Australian producer Pardoo Wagyu. It is truly good, flavourful and tender, yet does not leave that overly fatty sensation on the palate. Another exclusive to the restaurant we tried is the Dairy Wagyu Tri-tip sourced from Hokkaido, Japan. A richly marbled cut from the hindquarter of Hokkaido dairy cattle, this cut is known for its deeper and more developed flavour profile, which is characterised by a fuller and rounded richness that sets it apart from conventional Japanese Wagyu. Meat aside, the kitchen has also expanded its menu with individual plates that showcase beef in more diverse ways. Highlights include the Roasted French Scallop with housemade dry-aged beef XO sauce; and the Persillé Cavatelli with bone marrow where the handmade cavatelli is finished tableside with rich bone marrow, which is scooped and lightly folded through the pasta. We love the pasta dish, sinfully good and buttery.
