Food Review: Coast and Company | Cool bicycle theme cafe [CLOSED]

The Place The more ulu a place is, the more intriguing it can be. Such is the case for Coast and Company, the latest hipster café in the East along Siglap Drive. IMG_3651I love Coast and Company the moment I stepped into the bike theme café, for its minimalist industrial café settingIMG_3646
Seriously, Coast and Company feels more like a bike gallery than a café which we are not complaining. On the contrary, the bike theme make this café stand out from the plethora of café wannabes these days and we were totally soaking in the cool chic ambience. At this point, it really did not matter that we are not professional bikers. IMG_3621At the end of the café is the bike workshop which looks so amazingly minimalist as well. IMG_3616IMG_3620IMG_3618Remember to proceed to level 2 as well for a glimpse of the patented Coast Cycle series bikes. I was tempted to get one if not for the hefty price tag. The gallery is simple yet impressive.IMG_3639IMG_3635IMG_3637And finally, check out the back alley as well, totally worth a photo for instagrammers.IMG_3648IMG_3649The Food The bikes ain’t everything at Coast and Company as evident from the well crafted menu by Chef Willin Low of Wildrocket as well as coffee beans from well acclaimed Papa Palheta. There are not many choices for food but each dish is quite unique in its own way, well at least we were able to discern that there was some thought in the menu creation instead of trying to be like the mainstream cafes out there.IMG_3625IMG_3626Ditch the predictable Coast Breakfast ($12) and go for the more creative ones on the menu such as the Beef Rendang Hotdog ($14) or the Sour Cream Cheese Toast ($8). We went for the latter and it was ohh so yummy! It was my first having sour cream on toast (i’m a huge fan of sour cream), couple with the Honey Comb Crumble it was perfect. The texture of the toast was firm and crispy as well, definitely a good dish to share.IMG_3605What’s to say for the Café Latte ($5)? Aromatic and strong in taste, Papa Palheta beans just cannot go very wrong.IMG_3609Rants The offbeat location makes Coast and Company pretty inaccessible but we think of it as its charm and edge instead.

Will I return again? Great food, coffee and ultra cool chic vibe. This is one of the best café in Singapore at the moment. There is really nothing we dislike about Coast and Company, especially to try the Beef Rendang Hotdog on our next visit!IMG_3654TheRantingPanda says:
