Food Review: Club Street Social [Closed]

The Place Nestled within Gemmill Lane alongside the CBD of Singapore lies Club Street Social, a casual eatery which serves all-day Breakfast and desserts. The Manhattan inspired loft interior is fairly small with limited seating, perfect for couples but might be unsuitable for large group gatherings. I visited Club Street Social on a Sunday afternoon for Brunch and it was almost fully packed.

The Food I have heard rave reviews of the Scrambled Eggs ($12) prior to coming here and it is by no surprise that this is at the top of my must try food here. Indeed, the Scrambled Eggs did not fall short of my expectations as it is cooked to such indescribable perfection.

We also tried the Truffled Egg Toast ($14)which is another chef masterpiece. This dish is unique in that this is the first time I have tasted a toast which is not spread with butter but with truffle instead. I totally love the combination of the truffle oil and the sunny-side up egg on the toast.

For desserts, I tried the Affogato ($7) which is a huge disappointment. I suspect that they did not even add a solid scoop of ice-cream in the Espresso, as I can only taste bits and pieces of the ice-cream.
As for coffee, the Iced Mocha ($6) which I ordered is fairly ordinary as well, definitely not made from one of the best coffee beans around.

Will I return again? With the advent of cafes serving all-day Breakfast menu these days, I will probably not return here again so soon as there are so many other cafes worth checking out.

The Verdict

Taste bud: 3.5/5
Hole in the pocket: 3.5/5
Ambience: 3/5
