Food Review: Suprette

The Place Suprette is located in one of Singapore’s latest boutique hotel, Kam Leng Hotel, along the junction of Jalan Besar and Bendemeer Road. Adopting a rather clean, yet retro look for the restaurant, Suprette caters to both hotel guests and patrons looking for American-inspired food. Having visited it during the Father’s Day weekend, tRP was surprised to find the restaurant rather vacant for dinner. For a review of Suprette Brunch menu, click Suprette (part 2).

P1010308The Food Slight variation of food choices are served at Suprette along the day, with the main highlight for both Lunch and Dinner being The (spelt with a capital T) Suprette Burger. While the Breakfast and Lunch menu comprise of a more light-hearted, brunchy option, the dinner menu has the likes of the cowboy’s favourites such as T-bone and Hanger Steak.

The Soup of the day during our visit was the French Onion Soup ($8), while a tad too salty, it definitely made a great start to the meal!P1010313How could a visit to Suprette be complete without giving The Suprette Burger ($25) a bite? And our verdict: Good, but not the best gourmet burger Singapore has to offer.  The beef patty was a little too dry compared to the  juicy patties tRP had at other burger joints. For the hungry souls, one good news though – the fries are free flow (that’s if you can even finish its first serving).P1010320tRP’s love for steak got the better of us again, no regrets to that though. The Hanger Steak & Marrow ($28) was a match made in heaven. While the steak was slightly cold when served, the bone marrow is definitely sufficient reason for this dish to be possibly one of the restaurant’s favourite.P1010321All mains are served with a side salad. Nothing noteworthy though.P1010315Rants Most of the food were not served hot. An issue tRP couldn’t comprehend considering the lack of crowd during our visit.

Will I return again? Not the best gourmet burger in town. It has to do much more to command a return visit. Read tRP’s review on other gourmet burger joints in Singapore, worthy of a return – Omakase Burger.P1010324TheRantingPanda says:
