Food Review: Cosy Corner Coffee | Decent cafe in Everton Park [Closed]

The Place Everton Park is quietly becoming the next hipster location with the few cafes already established, such as Cosy Corner Coffee. Located at the void deck of the quaint Everton estate, there is an old charm to this estate which attracts me. The vicinity include the prominent Duxton estate, new condos along Spottiswood Road and office buildings in Tanjong Pagar area, yet Everton Park manages to stand through the test of time and retain its old facade.
Cosy Corner Coffee is a small cafe which feels quite cosy I must say. It helps that it is not too crowded in the evening and seems like the perfect place to read a book or surf the net (with its free wifi and socket zones) in some decent peace. I like the furnishing as well, simply and pleasant to the eye.
The Food The menu is pretty limited to sandwiches and pies and to be frank, I was there for the coffee. I initially contemplated on the Espresso with Ice-cream ($8.90), also known as Affogato, but it seems too overpriced in my opinion, given that this is not exactly an artisan cafe.
The Iced Mocha ($6) is decently good, with a well balanced cocoa and coffee mix. It would have been better if served in a proper cup instead of a plastic cup.
My Cafe Latte ($4.50) is not the best latte around as I feel that the coffee lacks the strong flavour and punch. This is probably because it does not sourced its coffee beans from a speciality coffee roaster or distributor, such as Chye Seng Huat Hardware, Loysel’s Toy and The Providore.
Rants The lack of speciality coffee beans is definitely a big rant we have, as we find the coffee lacking in acidity.

Will I return again? This is a nice cafe to chill but it probably does not serve the best coffee around. With two other coffee joints steps away (Nylon Coffee Roasters & Just Want Coffee), I may have better alternatives to fix my caffeine addiction.
