Food Review: Pappasan | Fusion restaurant in Dorsett Hotel

The Place One of the perks of having The Entertainer 2015 App is the discount on the list of all restaurants in the App, such as Pappasan Restaurant. Located at Dorsett Hotel at the exit of Outram Park station, Pappasan is a fusion restaurant which specialises in Asian delights and Western fares. The décor of Pappasan is on the fringe of chic and casual, with French leather seats and an open concept bar in the middle of the restaurant.
The Food We heard that some of the Asian delights are the restaurant’s specialities, such as the Chicken Rice and Fried Koay Teoh. On the western side, some highlights include the Richman Burger, Cod Fish and Grilled Salmon.

With the Entertainer app, I get to enjoy 1-for-1 for the mains at Pappasan. We ordered the Richman Burger ($38) and the Pappasan Chicken Rice ($16.50) for some mix of flavours and dishes.

The Richman Burger is so named for its hefty price tag, as well as the premium wagyu beef patty and generous slab of foie gras. I like the presentation of the burger and the fries in the mini basket. Aesthetic aside, my medium-done wagyu beef patty is tender and succulent, while the foie gras added that extra juicy punch to the burger.
We initially had high hopes for the Pappasan Chicken Rice after learning that the chef used to be from the famous Chatterbox. Admittedly, we were quite disappointed with the dish. The rice lacks fragrance, while the chicken meat is not as tasty as we like it to be. What a pity.

Rants While prices are not cheap at Pappasan (imagine $16.50 for Chicken Rice), the cosy ambience makes up for it.

Will I Return again? Without the Entertainer App 1-for-1 deal, I will be hesitant to return as the food will not blow your mind away. Otherwise, it can be quite a nice restaurant in town for a quiet and cosy gathering.
