It’s SG50 this year (if anyone needs any reminding, that is) and in the spirit of it, Edge (Pan Pacific Singapore’s award winning buffet restaurant) is doing a revamp of their Saturday local delights lunch buffet. Aptly named Makan Makan, it is introducing a wide variety of Peranakan favourites, making this already popular buffet hunt even more appealing with the local twist! Yes, we are that patriotic Singaporeans.
We usually start with the mains, but not this time! The above snapshot is a glimpse of the beautifully laid dessert counter at Edge, all filled up with Nyonya Kueh, traditional cakes and my all-time favourite Oneh Oneh! This is not all though, as the dessert spread includes its homemade Ice-Cream, Chendol Agar Agar, Pandan Kaya Cake, waffles, Ice Kachang, Soy Bean Milk Pudding and for all Durian lovers, Durian Puff, Durian Mousse Cake and Durian Pengat. My advice, save some space for the now trending coconut ice-cream, it deserves your calories!
Other notable highlights at the Edge Makan Makan buffet include the Homemade Laksa, Penang Prawn Noodle Soup, Bak Kut Teh, Babi Poteh, customised Rojak station, Teochew Porridge with assorted side dishes, Nasi Lemak with Otah, Omelette and Chicken Wing, Roti Prata and Roti John, Fried Oyster Omelette and so much more. Trust us, Mr Teh Tarik was really stressed up when we were capturing this moment. It’s all worth the wait, one of the most popular live stations during the buffet session, this Teh Tarik is a must-drink when you visit Edge!
