What’s New: Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant at Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel has recently welcomed Guest Chef Chan Po Sang, formerly the Executive Chef at Imperial Court and Intercontinental Shanghai Puxi. Chef Chan creations will be available in the a la carte menu, as well as the seven course set menu for a limited period until 10 October 2015.
The Highlights: Some of the notable highlights and personal favourites from the seven course set menu are the Stewed Tomatoes with Assorted Mushrooms and Lobster Broth with Diced Seafood and Crispy Rice. The stewed tomatoes is unconventional, even the Rantee who usually dislikes tomatoes find this version acceptable. The broth is a mix of chicken, pork and watercress, while the unusually large tomato is stuffed with assorted mushrooms which added much flavour to the soft tomato.
I like the richness of the lobster broth, and I will recommend adding the crispy rice to the broth.
Other dishes in the set menu include the Trio Platter (Iberico Pork, Scallop and Spinach with Conpoy), Double boiled conch, morel mushroom soup, Pan-fried diced Beef Tenderloin with black pepper and Steamed Sliced Giant Grouper.
