Chikin Bar
Located along Bukit Pasoh road near Outram MRT station, Chikin Bar is a relatively new yakitori & cocktails restaurant-bar concept by the folks behind Sum Yi Tai. The yakitori and kushiyaki take centrestage of the menu at Chikin, where you can definitely find all sorts of chicken parts on sticks right here. Can we say that Folklore is one of our favourite new restaurant to open this year? Located in Destination Singapore Beach Road, the Singapore Heritage restaurant is helmed by Chef Damien D’Silva, and boasts a robuts menu spanning across Chinese, Indian, Malay, Peranakan and Eurasian cuisines. The ambience of the restaurant is homely, with many hit dishes created from family recipes passed down for generations. The Sambal Buah Keluak Fried Rice  is a must order. [Read more here…]

Ginza Rokukakutei
Originally from Osaka, this Japan’s one Michelin Star establishment set up its first overseas outpost in Odeon Towers Singapore with the exact same menu that won them the accolades. The chef at the restaurant helms from its original branch with 15 years of experience, and will permanently be based at the Singapore’s branch. Rokukakutei specialise in deep-fried skewers, also know as kushikatsu. At S$134++ , the chef will prepare up to 20 sticks of Omakase Skewers, with diners able to halt the service anytime during the meal should one be sufficiently filled – of course, the price will be calibrated accordingly. PS.Cafe opens latest branch at One Fullerton
The ever-popular brunch restaurant and cafe has officially opened its ninth outlet at One Fullerton since 31st August.  The all-day dining restaurant boasts an awesome view of the waterfront right above one of the most popular tourist destination in Singapore, the Merlion Park. Some of the exclusive new dishes to expect at this outlet include the Chargrilled Skate with green harissa and broccolini, Moules Vin Blanc with crusty dipping bread and Chargrilled Chunky Prawn Sandwich with spiced pickled mango, kaffir lime aioli, shoestring fries and house sourdough. The Bird Southern Bar & Table
Located at Marina Bay Sands, The Bird Southern Table & Bar Singapore is the first international location of Yardbird Southern Table & Bar, a renowned and award winning restaurant from the US inspired by Southern cuisine. Think fried chicken and waffles, that’s one of the highlights at The Bird, which uses the famous 100-year-old recipe Lewellyn’s Fine Fried Chicken. The menu at the Singapore’s branch is fairly similar to Yardbird Southern Table & Bar in the US, with small tweaks to the local palate. Some of the other Southern U.S. classic dishes at The Bird include the Shrimp ‘N’ Grits, Buttermilk Biscuits, and Butter Lettuce and Grilled Mango Salad.

DON HO has a new Brunch Menu
The restaurant and bar at Keong Saik Road has started serving brunch in its beautiful space. Some of the all-day breakfast dishes to expect include Brioche French Toast, The DON HO burger and Avocado toast. For something more hearty, the lunch menu offers dishes like Crumbed Pork Cutlet, Sticky Beef Ribs and Braised Sticky Pork Belly flatbread sandwich. Fratelli – Trattoria • Pizzeria, the Celebrity Restaurant in Resorts World Sentosa unveiled new menu
The Italian restaurant in Resorts World Sentosa introduced a new menu recently, unveiled by Italian Celebrity Chef Roberto Cerea and inspired from Chef Roberto’s Three Michelin-starred second-generation family-run restaurant ‘Da Vittorio’ in Lombardy. Fratelli means “brothers” in Italian, and the restaurant is in fact two dining experiences in one location – the all-day-dining Pizzeria and the dinner-service-only Trattoria. Some of the new highlights include the black and gold Pizza Oro Nero with a base of squid ink tomato sauce and seafood; Homemade Square Spaghetti Pasta “Chitarra” served with Braised Beef Short Ribs Ragout and Black Truffle Shavings; and the Milanese Veal Cutlet.

Joyden Treasures
The two year old restaurant at Kallang Leisure Park has launched twenty new dishes to celebrate it’s second year of operations, and we were lucky to try a couple of them recently. The Teochew-style Chilled Yellow Roe Crab is easily one of our favourites of the lot, served with sweet plum sauce or homemade minced ginger and vinegar mix. The crab meat we had was fresh and sweet, while the highly prized golden roe was very creamy and luscious. Other memorable new dishes include the Crispy Homemade Yam Ring with Vegetables and Pork, Steamed Young Threadfin with Pickled Chinese ‘Olives’, Crispy Chicken Skin Stuffed with Seafood and Lobster Claypot Porridge with Crispy Rice Puffs. New Classic Afternoon Tea at The Lobby Lounge – A locally inspired high-tea experience
If you are a fan of local food, The Lobby Lounge at InterContinental Singapore has launched a new Classic Afternoon Tea: Straits Heritage, available from 7 August to 19 November 2017. The three-tiered Afternoon Tea Set showcases creations inspired by Straits-Chinese cuisine, with highlights such as Peranakan dishes like Ayam Buak Keluak Crostini, Kurobuta Pork Ngo Hiang, Pulut Hitam Chiffon Cake and Chendol Agar Jelly. Even the cocktail is a limited-edition Blue Ginger, a rum-based cocktail featuring local flavours such as Galangal, Gula Melaka and Kaffir Lime. The three-tiered set is priced at S$78++ for two persons, inclusive of a fine selection of loose-leaf teas and coffee; and at S$108++ for two persons, inclusive of two flutes of Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut Champagne or Blue Ginger cocktail, and a fine selection of loose-leaf teas and coffee. Xin Cuisine Chinese Restaurant has finally reopened
The Chinese restaurant located in the Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium has reopened after a period of revamp, led by their new Executive Chinese Chef Chan Shun Wong. The spacious  restaurant has also introduced new dishes along with the reopening, with highlights such as the Stir-fried Assorted Mushrooms with White Truffle Oil, Xin’s Signature Home-style Roast Duck with Tea Leaves and Deep-fried prawns coated with Yuzu Mayonnaise. Weekend Dim Sum buffet is available as well.
