The Place Located in Sims Vista Market & Food Centre, Hollywood Braised Duck Rice is one of the more popular stalls here during my visit. This food centre is located rather near to the Aljunied MRT, and it is surprising that I have never really paid much attention to this hawker centre. The hawker centre is spacious and the ventilation is quite good, which makes it pleasant to enjoy hawker food. There was a short queue at Hollywood Braised Duck Rice, and my food was ready within ten minutes. The stall was previously known as Lian Kee Braised Duck in the now-defunct Hollywood Canteen in Tanjong Katong.

The Food Kway Chap, Duck Noodles and of course, Braised Duck Rice (S$3.50). I had a platter of various meats like braised duck meat, pig skin, braised egg and braised beancurd, along with a plate rice. Depending on the mix of ingredients you choose, this costs about S$13 for two persons worth of portions.

I like the dark gravy here, which is luscious and one of the most important aspect in a delicious plate of braised meats. The duck meat is tender and well soaked in the dark sauce, while the texture of the pig skin is just right. Don’t neglect the accompanying soup as well, which I really like it for its intense flavour.

I also couldn’t resist ordering a Dry Duck Noodles (S$3.50), which is not too bad. It comes with the same tender duck meat like the braised duck rice, just that some people are not big fans of yellow noodles.

Rants Wouldn’t have been queuing, although many regulars manages to get their orders with a simple wink while walking pass. But they are regulars, so I can’t complain.

Will I Return Again? While Sims Place is not exactly my hood, I do like the vibe of this food centre and will definitely recommend you to try Hollywood Braised Duck Rice if you are a duck rice lover.
