What’s Buzzing? A modern-Indian brunch? We checked out Champagne Superstar, a novel brunch experience newly launched by Firangi Superstar restaurant at Craig Road. Happening every Saturday from noon, this is a two-and-a-half-hour-long brunch at the Modern Indian restaurant where you can also opt for free flow champagne – Moet & Chandon Brut or Rose, or even Veuve Clicquot La Grand Dame. 

I previously visited Firangi Superstar when it first opened a year ago and the space is still as gorgeous as before.  

What To Expect? Choose one of the three options where brunch starts from Marvelous (S$88++ for food only), to Magnificent (S$158++ for food and free flow of selected beverages including Moet & Chandon Brut or Rose), to the Massmajestica (S$328++ food and free flow of selected beverages including Veuve Clicquot La Grand Dame).  

The brunch started with an elaborate out of the box starter kit where a lovely wooden box is presented with a range of morsels which include the likes of caviar puri, masala donuts, truffle puri, semolina cake and pepper fry croissant.

It is a visually beautiful array of starters, and I like the punchy flavours and modern twist applied to the Indian flavours.  

After a round of starters, you then get to choose a main course with options like prata waffle with madras fried chicken, akuri (masala scrambled eggs) or fish & chips showcasing Amritsari snapper.

The last part of the brunch is dessert, where you get to choose from a display of Oreo laddu cheesecake, flourless chocolate cake with Parle-G crumble and Kashmiri chili ginger cookies, to name a few. The team aren’t fussy about how much dessert you can have at this point, so you can opt for a variety if you have a group of diners to share with.  

Overall Experience A great and fun brunch experience if you are looking for something other than the typical café fares. Expect robust flavours for the modern Indian dishes, in a beautiful cinematic setting no less.
