Food Review: Roast Paradise At Compassvale Link, Sengkang | Head Here For Their Caramalised Char Siew & ‘Sio Bak’

The Place Opened since 2016 in Old Airport Road by young hawkers Kai and Randall, Roast Paradise is one of the most popular roast meat stalls in Singapore which recently opened their second stall at Sengkang. The Sengkang outlet is located in 267 Compassvale Link right beside Ranggung LRT Station in a coffeeshop.

I previously had the roast meats at its Old Airport Road outlet and Fook Kin in Killiney Road, where it is still one of the few places I think of whenever I want to have roast meats in Singapore.

The Food The brand is most well-known for its caramalised and tender char siew, which is a must try dish.

The Char Siew starts from S$6.50 (100g) and it is characterised by its glistening char siew skin. The char siew is not overly fatty with more lean meat proportion. My favourite bit of the char siew is the charred edges of the meat where it is slightly crispy.

The Roast Pork aka ‘Sio Bak’ is another must try meat here. Prices start from S$6.50 (100g) and it has about 50-50 ratio of fatty and lean meat proportion. The roast pork skin could be crispier for me.

For side dishes to go along, I recommend trying the Hakka Noodle (S$3) which is really tasty.

Other options on the menu include Char Siew Rice, Char Siew Noodle and Roast Pork Noodle.

Rants This is not a huge coffeeshop which may be difficult to get a table during peak meal hours.

Will I Return Again? Roast Paradise is a great addition to Sengkang and it offers a good option in the North-East region of Singapore if you are craving for some good roast meats.

This was an invited tasting, though all opinions expressed are our own.
