Quan Hotpot
New hotpot restaurant alert and this time it is at Hotel Michael, Resorts World Sentosa. Quan Hotpot took over the space of the now-defunct Spanish restaurant Sugarra. The interior has not changed much fundamentally, so you can expect an elegant setting for a hotpot meal where each diner gets their own individual hotpot. Each broth and dish is guided by the Chinese Five Elements of flavour – sour, sweet, bitter, spicy and salty, with broth options like Singapore Laksa, Sichuan Mala, Bone Pepper, Collagen Herbal Chicken, and Traditional Congee. You can choose to go ala carte or opt for their good value set menus which starts from S$58++ per person. I had their 5-Elements Hot Pot Set (S$68++) which is priced competitively, and you get a curated platter of meats (beef, lamb and pork), seafood including scallops and prawns, and sustainably grown vegetables.

Tonkatsu Daiki
A brand from Osaka, Japan, Tonkatsu Daiki just opened in Singapore at Ngee Ann City few weeks ago. A brief background of Tonkatsu Daiki is that it is a Michelin-recognised tonkatsu specialty restaurant in Osaka and Tonkatsu Daiki Singapore operates in strategic partnership with Osaka-based Tonkatsu Daiki. The menu features carefully selected premium pork, paired with accompaniments that complete the tonkatsu experience. Each cutlet is coated with panko breadcrumbs and fried, where the pork is imported from Hokkaido. [Read more here for our full review]

Bouillon Gavroche
Located at Mandarin Gallery, Bouillon Gavroche is a new casual French restaurant located in the heart of Orchard Road which opened this month, also the sister concept of Brasserie Gavroche. It is a straightforward menu split into appetisers, main courses and dessert, where the most expensive dish is just S$28. For beverages, expect a pure French wine list where wine by glass or bottles are reasonably priced. [Read more here for our full review]

The Peranakan Club
Let’s get this out of the way first: nobody expects to eat refined, heritage-driven Peranakan food inside Orchard Towers. And yet, here we are at The Peranakan Club — stepping into a 5,000‑square‑foot space that feels less like a restaurant and more like a Peranakan museum. The Peranakan Club isn’t just a place to makan. It is a multi‑concept destination housing The Little Nyonya restaurant, a private tok panjang dining room, a kebaya‑themed cocktail bar, a tea lounge, and an in‑house museum and retail atelier. Chimi’s Especial
This is the latest concept by home-grown Latin restaurant group Chimichanga, now open at Customs House. Highlights include Peruvian Pollo a la Brasa, Sándwich de Pastrami Puerto Rico with aji verde, Wagyu Entraña Asado inspired by Argentina and Uruguay, and Pulpo Asado al Carbón with coastal influences from Peru and Baja Mexico. It is a spacious setting, a 180-seat indoor-outdoor space, with Marina Bay views and a cocktail programme  inspired by Latin America.

New Spring Menu At Restaurant Labyrinth
Building on 2025’s menu that focused on “Singapore Cuisine without Borders”, Labyrinth’s Spring Menu is an evolution and progression of Chef Han’s minimalist vision of creating his own elevated language of Singapore flavours centred around showcasing the best seasonal produce from around the world alongside techniques past and present. This is probably my favourite menu at Labyrinth to date, where each course takes subtle references to familiar Singaporean flavours without coming across as trying too hard. Expect courses like Sup Tulang, Oxtail Mandu where the new seasonal soup course is inspired by Sup Tulang and Beef Sinigang; Sawara, Roti Jala which is inspired by the Singaporean favourite Fish Head Curry; Spaghettoni, Abalone is an expression of the classic Mee Rebus; and more.

New Dishes Introduced At Acqua e Farina
Since opening its first outlet at The Rail Mall in 2016 and expanding with a Keong Saik Road location in 2024, Acqua e Farina now introduces new lunch dishes and new creations to its all-day à la carte menu. New lunch dishes include the Mortadella and Scamorza Cheese Rolls which is filled with rich mortadella and melted Scamorza cheese; Linguine tossed with Smoked Salmon in Cream Pesto Sauce; and Linguine Puttanesca where the al dente pasta is tossed in a robust tomato sauce with garlic, anchovies, and chilli flakes. In addition, there are also new a la carte dishes on the menu such as the Polipo alla Luciana where you get tender octopus slow-cooked in a rich tomato sauce with garlic, olive oil, and herbs; Rigatoni alla Vaccinara where the pasta is coated in a rich Roman-style slow-cooked oxtail sauce; and Spaghetti alla Bottarga e Polipo tossed in garlic and olive oil.

Longjing Restaurant Opens Second Outlet In Novena
When it first opened in Suntec City Mall, the snaking queue is a testament to its popularity. Longjing Restaurant (绿茶餐厅) is a well‑known Chinese restaurant brand from Hangzhou, China, specialising in Zhejiang (Jiangnan) cuisine, which emphasises lighter and refined flavours. The brand just opened its second outlet in Novena Square (Velocity @ Novena Square). Zhejiang cuisine is known to be lighter than other types of Chinese cuisines like Sichuan flavours. It is an extensive menu, and I started with some of the lighter dishes like Sister’s Song Fish Broth (S$5.80), Hangzhou-style Pan Friend Buns ($7.80) and Hangzhou Braised Delicacies in Golden Seafood Broth (S$22.80).

‘Get Curried Away’ At Ministry Of Crab
We got curried away literally. Back at Ministry Of Crab at Dempsey, the Sri Lankan outpost of one of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants in Singapore. The ‘Get Curried Away’ dishes are reimagined from Singapore’s love for curry and bread through Ministry of Crab’s lens. We had the Sri Lankan Curry Crab dish done in a traditional Sri Lankan-style curry which is easy to appreciate as it is not that spicy. This goes along well with the accompanying bread toast which soaks up all the curry jus. Needless to say, the crab meat is fresh and sweet. If you prefer prawns to crab, there is also the Claypot Prawn Curry. For starters, we also had the Kani Tama – Steamed crab liver with silky soft-cooked egg. The Singaporean element here is that this comes with housemade chicken rice chilli sauce and hot sauce and served with bread, an exclusive dish to Singapore.
