Hotel Review: Grand Hyatt Jeju (King Room) | Mega Hotel Complex & Facilites In Jeju City

The Hotel Jeju is often marketed as nature first — waterfalls, coastlines, Hallasan hikes — which makes Grand Hyatt Jeju feel almost absurd at first glance. This is not a discreet boutique tucked into the landscape. It is a 38‑storey  twin‑tower landmark, part of the Jeju Dream Tower complex, and quite literally impossible to miss once you arrive in Jeju City.

Located about 10 minutes from Jeju International Airport, the hotel sits firmly on the urban side of the island. That makes it exceptionally convenient for short stays, late arrivals, or travelers who want quick access to restaurants, shopping, and nightlife — at the cost of immediate beachfront or rural charm. I drove and there is parking connected directly to the hotel, where parking is also complimentary for hotel guests.

What the hotel lacks in “quiet countryside romance”, it compensates for with scale and accessibility. Grand Hyatt Jeju positions itself less as a peaceful hideaway and more as a self‑contained lifestyle destination.

The Rooms One of the most consistent highlights of Grand Hyatt Jeju is space. Standard rooms start at around 65 square meters, which is notably generous by both Korean and city‑hotel standards. Even entry‑level rooms feel more like junior suites, with proper separation between sleeping, lounging, and bathroom areas.

I checked into the 65sqm King Room. Notable room features for me include the floor‑to‑ceiling windows where my room comes with a gorgeous airport runway and pool view. Some rooms facing also comes with Hallasan mountain views.

Design-wise, the rooms feel intentionally “urban luxury” — polished, comfortable, and efficient — rather than trying to imitate Jeju’s natural textures.

There is plenty of space to walk around, a lounge area, a spacious work desk, wardrobe space, and of course – a spacious bathroom.

It is a large marble bathroom with a bathtub, rainforest showers, and double vanity sinks complete with Balmain amenities. There is also a separate powder room area.

If there is a downside, it is that the rooms prioritize scale and comfort over warmth. I also must mention that there are multiple light sensors in the bedroom and bathroom which is good or bad depending on how you view it. It helps when you need to head to the bathroom at night, though it can also get a little glaring on your eyes.

The Facilities Calling Grand Hyatt Jeju a hotel almost undersells it.

The property includes:

  • Indoor and outdoor pools, including an infinity‑style outdoor deck
  • A massive fitness center by hotel standards
  • Two premium spas
  • A Grand Club lounge for eligible guests
  • A foreigner‑only casino
  • A large K‑fashion and retail mall (HAN Collection)
  • Cinema, bars, cafés, and convenience stores within the complex

I did not manage to check out all the facilities but here are some of my comments: Indoor pool is perpetually packed and feels slightly claustrophobic, outdoor pool has a resort vibe but can be quite windy but it is great that the water is heated, while the fitness centre is pretty well-equipped.

The Restaurants While I did not have any meals in the restaurants here during my stay, the hotel boasts 14 dining concepts, ranging from international buffets and Korean cuisine to cafés, bars, and lounges. Do check the hotel’s website for more details on the dining concepts.

Rants Busy public spaces and elevators, not particularly “Jeju‑rustic” in character and less dreamy or nature‑immersive than south‑coast resorts.

Overall Experience Staying at Grand Hyatt Jeju feels less like staying at a traditional resort and more like living inside a polished, high‑functioning city block. The huge room is the main draw for me, as well as the proximity to the airport. Parking is also complimentary for hotel guests, and the service is generally efficient. It suits travelers who value comfort, convenience, and space — especially on a first visit or shorter stay — where Grand Hyatt Jeju makes a very convincing case.
