Food Review: AP Café Singapore At Raffles Hotel | The World’s First Luxury Watch Café By Audemars Piguet With A Swiss-Singaporean Twist

The Place Luxury watch manufacturers are no longer just keeping time; they are taking over the culinary world. Tucked away on Beach Road, AP Café Singapore marks Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet’s grand, first-ever foray into the dining world. Located inside the stunning, historic Bar & Billiard Room at Raffles Hotel Singapore, the space is visually elegant and minimalistic.

I love that soaring, majestic arched ceilings their sleek and minimalist interior. Watch totems display intricate, historic timepieces to remind you exactly where you are. With only 12 seats inside, the vibe is intimate, highly exclusive, and undeniably plush.

There is also outdoor sheltered terrace seats which overlooks the iconic blue water fountain of Raffles Hotel Singapore.

The Food The culinary direction here is managed by the heavyweights behind the Michelin-starred Burnt Ends Hospitality Group, so expectations were sky-high. The menu focuses on Swiss classics reimagined through a dynamic Singaporean lens.

For the mains, the Chicken Rice Club Sandwich (S$24) is a play on Singaporean flavour for chicken rice where the sandwich features tender roasted chicken breast along with ginger. The housemade chilli dressing instantly reminds me of our local chicken rice flavours.

I also enjoyed the Spiced Beef Tartare, Sriracha, Wonton Skins (S$38) where Australian wagyu beef tenderloin is seasoned with sriracha and soy-cured egg yolk. Instead of standard crostini, it is served alongside crisp, fried wonton skins that provide a good crunch.

For sweets, the Gula Melaka Pain Suisse (S$8) is not as sweet as it sounds which is a good thing. The pastry layers are buttery enough and is filled with an airy, fragrant palm sugar custard cream without being cloying.

I also really love the Chocolate Tart (S$26), an intense yet not too sweet version.

To wash it all down, coffee is brewed using Burnt Ends Bakery’s signature, robust Slayer’s Blend. I had their Long Black (S$6) and it is robust to say the least!

Rants Indoor seating is limited, though you can opt for the outdoor sheltered terrace seats which overlooks the iconic blue water fountain of Raffles Hotel Singapore. Also, prices for the small, snack-sized plates lean premium, meaning your wallet will take a bit of a hit.

Will I Return Again? This is a nice spot for coffee and light bites in Cityhall, though prices are hefty for their bigger plates.
