The Place It is a brand-new space at ION Orchard for this legendary pizzeria. I checked out the newly relocated Osteria Mozza Singapore at ION Orchard as the famous pizzeria restaurant has moved out of Hilton Singapore Orchard. Osteria Mozza Singapore is also James Beard Award-winning Chef Nancy Silverton’s only Asian outpost of the Michelin-starred restaurant concept from Los Angeles, California. 

The new space is much warmer, elegant and befitting of the brand when I first had it when it was in MBS eons ago. 

The Food Pizzas are still the highlight for us. 

Making its Singapore debut is Pizza alla Pala, a Roman-style pizza inspired by Rome’s vibrant street food culture. The pizza is baked in a long, paddle-shaped form (pala means “paddle” in Italian), and it features a light, airy interior and crisp crust, designed for sharing. 

My favourite flavour is the Funghi Misti (S$29) – taleggio, fontina, thyme, Parmigiano Reggiano. I love the crisp crust and true to its description, it is airy so it doesn’t feel too heavy. 

It is a tough tie between the Funghi and the Aglio e Olio (S$23) with mozzarella and fontina for me; another flavour I highly recommend, and you can also choose to add on shrimp (+S$15 Shrimp) for an extra kick. 

For starters, expect the likes of Mozzarella di Bufala & Condimenti (S$38) with basil pesto, salsa romesco, black olive tapenade & caperberry relish; Nancy’s Caesar (S$28) salad with egg, leek and anchovy crostini. 

It is not just pizzas on the menu, but also pasta options like the Squid Ink Casarecce (S$28) with cuttlefish, garlic and red wine butter; as well as meat dishes like their Pork Chop Milanese (S$45) with cherry tomatoes and rucola. The best part for me is the crisp skin of the pork chop here! 

Rants Hits and misses for me. The pasta, while decent, pales in comparison to the pizzas.

Will I Return Again? Come for the pizzas, which are still the best part of the menu for me. The new space is much more inviting, and it is great for couples or a group of friends.
