Singapore – With the introduction of new COVID-19 ‘circuit breaker’ measures by Singapore government, all F&B retailers including restaurants and hawker stalls can only accept delivery or takeaway from April 7 onwards. No dine-in is allowed. For us, it is either trying our clumsy hands to cook at home, or turn to delivery or takeaway food options.

Here is a list of some of the options to consider for the month ahead! Let’s dabao your favourites from Deliveroo, Foodpanda and GrabFood, and remember to maintain your social distancing!

The Coconut Club

Swensen’s
The popular casual western food chain (this is like childhood memories) has launched four new sundaes for takeaway and delivery. The Earthquake In A Box and Jumbo Banana Split are available via delivery – carried out via Deliveroo from 23 March 2020 onwards, and thereafter via Grabfood, Foodpanda and Deliveroo from 23 April 2020 onwards. There are also two brand new tasting flight sundaes, exclusively available for takeaway only at all outlets and delivery via Foodpanda and Grabfood from 1 April 2020! The tempting Topless 15 consists of fifteen scoops of ice cream, while the Chocolate Fantasy is a mix of three scoops each of five different types of Swensen’s chocolate ice cream flavours.

Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao
Four new Bento Sets are introduced and priced between S$15.80 and S$16.80, each with a nourishing combination of three dishes and a choice of rice or noodle. At the same time, promotional offers include 20% off any bento set, 30% off with purchase of 3 or more bento sets, or top up S$2.20 for a bottle of Herbal Brew of the Day. The same sets are also available at Crystal Jade Jiang Nan (VivoCity). Nude Seafood/Nude Grill
Go nude legally with a discount at Nude Seafood in Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 3, or Nude Grill and Nude Chill at Marina One with a 20% off all food delivery island-wide all day till 4 May. Chatterbox
Chatter Box is offering a 50% off its specialty menu, which is an awesome promotion. Putien
Another causal Chinese restaurant with a Michelin Star, Putien has introduced a ‘Takeaway Specials’ promotion available until the end of 2020, with popular favourites at reduced prices. Other than takeaways, the dishes are also available on major delivery platforms.

Da Shi Jia Big Prawn Mee
The Killiney Road prawn noodle stall is now offering island wide delivery with a minimum order of S$60. We like the Da Shi Jia Wok-Fried Big Prawn White Bee Hoon, a dry version of the prawn noodle which is also one of their signature dish. [Read more here…]

Steamboat takeaway? This nondescript stall near the National Stadium is offering takeaway set – Pork Set (2 pax S$30, 4 pax S$55), Beef Set (2 pax $$35, 4 pax $65) with soup base and chilli included. No need to head out for one of Singapore’s most famous Chicken Rice stall now. There is no information on the minimum order, with island wide delivery available except Jurong Island. Check out their website for more details.
