The Place Located at the corner of the ever-popular Bedok Interchange Hawker Centre which has Michelin Bib Gourmand stalls like Bedok Chwee Kueh and Hock Hai (Hong Lim) Curry Chicken Noodle, Pin Xiang Hainanese Chicken Rice spots a long queue of customers even during the Circuit Breaker period in Singapore, perhaps an indication of how popular this stall is. The chain has 3 other chicken rice stalls under the branding PX Hainanese Chicken Rice which are halal-certified, you can find them at Changi Airport Terminal 4, Changi General Hospital and Blk 138 Tampines St 11.

Have seen some other websites writing about this chicken rice stall earlier, and thought of giving it a try when I visited the hawker centre recently.

The Food To me, the most important feature of a Chicken Rice is the rice itself. At Pin Xiang, the rice is not greasy and is well-balanced with the fragrance of chicken stock, garlic and ginger. Some may like that rice is on the dryer side, as compared to some stalls serving up overly oily rice.

I usually order poached chicken, as opposed to roasted chicken, though this is really up to personal preference. The poached chicken here is succulent, yet not too fatty despite me ordering the chicken thigh. Pin Xiang does not debone for its customers, and that’s the way I prefer too.

The chicken rice with an additional egg added only costs me S$4, and the portion is generous. Pin Xiang also adds a small portion of preserved vegetables by the side for each order of their chicken rice, a nice touch as this is a perfect match with the chicken rice.

Rants I heard that their Crispy Bean Curd is a highlight of the stall after my meal, and regretted not having it!

Will I Return Again? Not just your neighbourhood chicken rice stall, Pin Xiang packs some really good chicken!
