Food Review: Crafted By Peter Zwiener At South Beach | Casual Restaurant Concept Of Wolfgang’s Steakhouse By Wolfgang Zwiener Singapore

The Place Located in South Beach Avenue, Crafted by Peter Zwiener is a new restaurant which took over the space of now-defunct Caffe Cicheti. Being the sister outlet of Wolfgang’s Steakhouse by Wolfgang Zwiener Singapore, Crafted by Peter Zwiener is a casual dining concept with a mix of outdoor seats and indoor dining. The indoor dining ambience is slightly dim and it feels like a gastro-bar, with a focus on showcasing its USDA Prime Burgers along with decadent choices of Milkshakes and Craft Beers.

The Food I started with some milkshakes like the Mad About Mentha (S$14), a rich blend of chocolate and mint; and also the Million Dollar Smile (S$16) with Biscoff and Caramel. If milkshakes are not your thing, there is also a selection of wines, craft beers and cocktails.

Next up was a soup dish, Prawn Bisque (S$12). The luscious soup is served with delicious toast which goes well by dipping it in the soup!

There is a wide range of burgers to choose, and I had the Bun Jovi (S$20), made up of 100% USDA Prime Black Angus Beef Patty with pulled beef, romaine, tomato, onion and cheddar cheese. The brioche is quite soft, though I am not very fond of pulled beef in a burger as it doesn’t bring out the beef flavour as well.

The other burger which fared better for me is the Bull’s Eye (S$22), a combination of 100% USDA Prime Black Angus Beef Patty with romaine, tomato, onion, cheddar cheese and creamy pepper sauce. You get a juicy beef patty with the right amount of cheese, a better alternative than the Bun Jovi for me.

There are also various entrees if you prefer a meatier option. I had the Hokkaido Pork Collar (S$32) which features 180g dry aged pork collar with mixed salad. The aging of the meats is done with the other meats at Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, and perhaps expectations were high for me but I wish that the pork collar is even more flavourful.

The Sirloin Steak (S$68) is a safe bet as this is the brand’s forte, and you get 300g 100% USDA Prime Black Angus dry aged sirloin with mixed salad.

For sides, you can’t go wrong with the Mac N’ Cheese (S$12). Crispy crust on the edges, and it is definitely good for sharing as it is quite heavy in terms of flavour.

Desserts includes the likes of Cheesecake (S$12) and Chocolate (S$14) Cake. I much prefer the latter as it uses dark chocolate with bits of Oreo crumbs, and the flavour is more intense than the plain cheesecake.

Rants Burger prices are pretty casual, though the entree options are on the pricier end.

Will I Return Again? Head here for the burgers if you are looking for a causal dining spot in South Beach. The milkshakes are pretty wicked too, which makes for a perfect complement to the burgs.

This was an invited tasting, though all opinions expressed are our own.
