Food Review: Brotzeit
The Place Beer and German food seem to be synonymous with Brotzeit, which is probably one of the most popular chill-lax restaurants among Singaporeans and likewise foreigners. Of the few outlets in Singapore, the branch at Vivocity probably has the best ambience in my opinion with the alfresco waterfront dining if the weather is merciful.
The Food Sausages and Pork Knuckle are the must order at Brotzeit! For a start, we tried the Seafood Salad ($20.50), which I would recommend for sharing. The ingredients are fresh and there is a well-mixed variety such as smoked salmon, tuna and prawns.
For mains, we decided to go for the best of all worlds – the legendary Brotzeit Platter ($88). Just one word to describe the portion – Gigantic! I love it for the variety as it pretty much sum up the best of German cuisine – Pork Knuckle, Sausages and Pork cutlet. The skin of the pork knuckle is really addictive as it is very crispy, and oily of course. I would recommend this dish for a group of 4-5 people as it is really good variety.
The best part of ordering the Brotzeit Platter is that we also get to select two sides of our choice and we had the Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Potatoes.
Rants It would be perfect if Brotzeit serves Ciders as well.
Will I return again? For great food and company, why not?
